Perfect results for us today. Everton crushed City and every title aspirations they still had, and with United's draw vs Pool we are back in a position that requires us to drop points in 3 separate games and it also puts a dent into United's potential title challenge.

A perfect Super Sunday all around, indeed. Exactly the results I was hoping for and which would best suit us, are precisely what panned out. Made all the more gratifying by the eventual fact that after a supposedly confidence-crushing loss against Spurs and the brewing "crisis" with Costa allegedly enveloping us, we ended up extending our lead at the top and over our purportedly 'ready-to-pounce' rivals. Some very sad journos and television talking heads tonight Proud

Today's game at Goodison (as well as many many others so far this season...) also demonstrated 2 major bullets we thankfully dodged. Pep and Stones both utter pish :coffee:

We can go 8-9 points clear with a win, lets do this!

Plus Arsenal and Liverpool up next, 3 wins and we'll be out of sight Proud

Nothing's over till it's over, but we're fast approaching the point where it will take nothing short of a monumental, cataclysmic collapse from us and an accompanying immaculate, almost-unprecedented insurgency from someone else for us to not be champions. Manage Kick's hypothetical scenario and we'd be knocking right on that door.

Those games vs Liverpool and Arsenal will probably decide the title tbh.

Both winnable, but will gladly settle for draws.

Full-strength Liverpool side gets knocked out by (and loses at home to) Southampton this evening. A win there next week would be huge.

You lot always have been game-raisers against the good sides. A home win is very much a possibility recent results notwithstanding.

Yea, they're in a rough patch, they also barely scraped past Plymouth in 2 games and dropped out of the title race in the last weeks, but it should still be a worrisome fixture for us.

The last time we faced them at Anfield when they were in a rough patch and we were in the highest of spirits it was in the 11/12 season and they scored 4 in the first 45 minutes including a missed penalty Laughing Proud

1 win in 8 games since the start of the year.

It's the best time to be facing Liverpool.

Utd drew against Hull, so they remain 6th.

City won but remain 5th.

there's now 1 point between 2nd and 5th. They're all 9-10 points behind us, I would like to be more, but 9 points is a fantastic gap.

It's a fantastic gap indeed.

It's amazing that we increased our points lead in the 2 months span where there were no European competitions. So much for "Chelsea is only leading because they don't play midweek" Proud Soon everyone will be back playing in Europe and we can pounce on that opportunity and increase our lead further.

Spurs beaten by Liverpool. If we beat Burnley tomorrow, we're 12 points clear of the chasing pack. Meaning that for us to NOT win the title from here would mean we'd have to lose effectively a third of our remaining games (or in other words, lose 4 of our remaining 13, after losing just 3 of the previous 25...) while x challenger simultaneously wins every single one left of their own. I've been as subdued as anyone througout this season, but we're undeniably just about there boys.
