It's not like I gave Pep much credit when he was rocking it with Barcelona, I might not be rational, but I'm consistent.

I said CL spots aren't doable. EL spots are 7 pts away, that's still worth talking about TBH.

EL spots are 13 points away, CL quali 14 hmm

Wolfsburg closed an 11 point gap to win the League in 2009. 14 points is totally doable imo, just takes a 14 game winning streak, that's all.

Of course it's doable, it's just not going to happen.

One win against a terrible Freiburg, who happen to be their favourite opponent too, doesn't mean BVB are out of the relegation battle yet. They might just as well lose at home to Mainz next week, who knows.

RDM04 gained three positions, from 6th to 3rd due to BMG losing against them, Bayer losing to Werder Brema and Augsburg drawing against Frankfurt at home.

It looks like the planets are aligning for RDM04 to get that 3rd place. The whole universe wants RDM to succeed.

Well, I'm curious if he will actually be able to mix his concrete as successfully against Real in the CL Last 16. Even though I was annoyed as hell in the match against Gladbach, that 5-3-2 is probably the most sensible way to get some result against Real for Schalke.

They should embrace the fact that they borderline suck and have some great defensive players and just roll with it. Mix concrete, perfect that element of your play, then buy some fast players for counterattacking in the next window, groom your creative players (well, what passes for creative at Schalke, like Meyer, Draxler, and maybe Goretzka, since they sold Holtby for no apparent reason...) - and get the eff INNNN.

I don't think Schalke has ever played much beautiful football, the solos of Möller, and later Raul, aside, anyway.

Pep officially sucks now btw, received a phone call from my mom earlier, who wanted to remind me of my grandma's birthday, originally... She ended up ranting for like 20 minutes about how Bayern have stopped attacking completely now and are now just passing it around in mid field. She had even googled the heat maps from the Stuttgart match to prove how much they didn't move from their comfort zone, and dug up stats for declining numbers of shots taken since the Heynckes years.

I guess bio engineers are still math nerds at heart.

Anyway, when mom says something, she's right. So either accept Pep sucks, or come at me, bros!

(Mom's a Frankfurt fan, but her husband is a Bayern fan, so she's forced to watch them)

Also, I think I've discovered now the true reason for your antipathy - your step dad is a Bayern fan Laughing

And I'm just glad that Pep wasn't our coach when we lost the Finale dahoam against park the bus Chelsea.
We wouldn't have heard the end of it how possession football is dead lol.

I actually argued possession football's death in your favor when I was shitting all over Barca after the 7-0 stompfest that Heynckes' Bayern inflicted on them.

Superstar Marco Reus (25) hat seinen Vertrag gestern vorzeitig bis 2019 verlängert. Ohne Ausstiegsklausel, dafür sogar in der 2. Liga gültig.

And what did Heycknes play? His Bayern also played possession football and their gameplan was more counter-attacking than usual in that 7-0 because he adjusted it for a team of a CL semi calibre who left tons of space. For example today's Barcelona plays possession football, but if they matched up against that Barcelona they'd play counter-attacking football as well.

The new contract means nothing in terms of him staying. He's still going to leave.

Suarez signed a contract extension in December and was gone in the summer. Means shit all other than leaving Dortmund in a better bargaining position.

Of course it means something, it means exactly what you said it meant. Leaving Dortmund (and Reus, TBH) in a better bargaining position. It is a hell of a difference to sell him for 25m or 100m, and if that permanently red-carded tit Suarez goes for that much, why shouldn't Reus?
