Why did Liverpool buy Doni?
Some of you may know that Liverpool is the team I support in the EPL, so I follow their goings on. What the heck are they doing buying Doni?????????????? The guy is the king of the "papere" (howlers).

Re: Why did Liverpool buy Doni?
Because our current back up keeper is even worse than Doni, and it will allow the academy keepers to go out on loan and get some experience

Free.
Our current back up keeper was reserve to Thurnboll at Boro...you can just imagine how shocking he must have been

Hopefully it was a free transfer, but with the Americans now in charge, I bet they got at least 1M euro.

But I don't get why keepers move to top teams just to sit on the bench....
Go to a smaller team and start is better me thinks....

No smaller team wanted him in Italy. Sergio had taken his place as a starter at Roma and Lobant was ahead of him too. So better in second place with Liverpool than third place with Roma.

Is Republica the Italian Version of Sky Sport ?
because they've reported 13+3 of Henderson for 20M, 18.5 of Downing for 20M, and 6.75 for Adam in 9M.
Sky Sports always include add ons and bonuses.....I will be the happiest man on earth if they paid sums add up to what Sky reports. because it means all the adds on and bonuses have been activated, which will indicate we have won a god damn trophy.
Roma are paying off half of his last year of contract's wages, to get him off the wage list meaning we won't pay a transfer fee, and he'll be on 15K a week here.

So, Repubblica was right, about 2M euro if 1.5M was in sterling.

Reina hasn't been injured in 6 years...watch Doni be a jinx, and Reina gets injured after half a decade

.
No, Repubblica is Rome's biggest daily, so they cover AS Roma like the NYT covers the NY Yankees.

Re: Why did Liverpool buy Doni?
It's pretty much near impossible for a club to have two high quality keepers and for both to be happy at the same time. Most clubs have a number one and then average backups.
A keeper with as much experience as Doni is a good option for backup, even if he is prone to errors. If it's one a free, or a very small fee, then it's not a bad deal at all.
It's an improvement over Brad Jones and Liverpool can now send some of their younger keepers on loan. All in all, not a bad deal.

Doni is a disaster on two feet, in the champions league he's terrible, i'd rather take my chances and give a youth academy keeper a chance rather than Doni.

again, the thing is: our youngs GK will go on loan to gain experience by playing weeks & weeks out.
at Pool, with Reina playing 98% of the games, they would be "wasted" in the reserves/youth team or the bench.
so its better to send them on loan, and at club we stay with an experienced (from big european club & brazil NT) GK as cover, who we all hope wont have to play more than a couple of games a season or less (cause otherwise it would mean Reina would have been injured)

When it comes to penalties Doni is terrible ,he doesn't even move..Just watch the Roma- Arsenal peno shootout from a few years back and you'll see what I mean..

Just glad to finally see him move on.....I think he'll be quite happy at Pool honestly.

Nah, it's still a bad deal lol. And if he does play, you'll get a heart attack everytime he has the ball at his feet (he thinks he's the new Maradona at times).
PS- Our 'goals conceded' just decreased by 20%!
