Re: Arsenal Lobby
Diego Costa has been banned for three games for violent conduct.
I'm honestly surprised Gabriel's red card was rescinded. The FA is basically saying Dean's decision was completely wrong - won't stop them giving him more Arsenal games, mind you.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Admitting Dean was wrong is a good step but he should be punished for not stopping the incident immediately by taking Costa off.

Honestly don't care about Costa's punishment.
Would have been miles better if Dean was demoted instead.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
The internet presence of Arsenal is amazing
Also, just to stir things up:
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/agent-tells-arsene-wenger-he-s-so-wrong-over-client-s-position-mo
Wenger's eye for talent isn't quite what it used to be, it seems.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
This is nothing new. He's always viewed the forward/wide roles as somewhat fluid in that if he targets a player who can operate in one role, he's also a candidate for the other.
Don't think I need to dig up his quotes on Podolski when he first signed and when he figured out that he was anonymous as a CF.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsene Wenger and Grimandi were too busy scouting Ligue 2 talent to pay real attention to Martial.
Varane, Pogba and Martial all moved to other clubs while Wenger watched them, can't say the agent is wrong in what he is saying.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
While everyone is busy fapping over Martial, giving his agent a nice opportunity to big himself, here is some context:
FPL Scout Extra: Managers must be cautious with Martial
Martial has notched three goals in 126 minutes of action for the Red Devils, in a season where, to this point, the big-ticket strikers have failed to deliver.
Sergio Aguero, Diego Costa, Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane have provided only two Barclays Premier League goals between them, despite all initially being priced at £9.5million or more.
Their failure to offer value has heightened the frenzy among FPL managers to capture Martial, a new emerging force, leading the line in a United side clearly set up to challenge for the title.
---
The striker has hit the net with three of his four efforts on goal, but that 75% conversion rate cannot be maintained in the long term. His conversion rate at Monaco last season was 17.6%. Martial, like any striker in the top flight, will need a good level of service to carry on delivering.
When his display at St Mary's is analysed in more detail, it can be seen that Martial enjoyed only three touches in the Southampton penalty area.
---
AFC Bournemouth's Callum Wilson (11 touches; £6.0m) and Watford's Odion Ighalo (eight; £5.1m) both received more touches in the opponents' penalty area at the weekend and, despite Martial's obvious value, have arguably done enough to warrant similar attention from FPL suitors.
---
In their six BPL matches, United have produced only 35 goal attempts from inside the box. Only three teams, Sunderland, Newcastle United and Stoke City, have registered fewer.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Also, let's cut the crap about agents and 20 year olds having their 15 seconds of fame knowing better than a manager with over 20 years of top flight experience.
Campbell and Alexis were wider players who were also envisaged to play up front.

Gabriel suspended for one game and handed a £10,000 for his failure to leave the pitch after a red card.
A red that was actually rescinded, but there we go.

Wenger “Monaco’s statement was always that two players – Martial and Layvin Kurzawa – would not move,” said Wenger. “I thought they would maintain that but in the end both of them moved [Martial to United, Kurzawa to Paris Saint-Germain
Wenger still has no clue.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Having been sent off against Chelsea, it has emerged that Gabriel feared the wrath of Arsenal fans, feeling he’d let them down.
But the Brazilian has spoken about how he was taken aback by the support he was given after the incident. Despite falling for Diego Costa’s tricks a little bit, there’s no question that anyone other than the Spanish international was to blame – something that surprised the former Villarreal man.
“As I walked off after being sent off against Chelsea I thought the fans would hate me,” he said, “but the support was unbelievable.
“I have been tested by Costa before in Spain, I think he knows that we were causing him issues, but this is life, we move on. I should have listened to my manager and Cech when they said not to react to Costa.
“We will play again,” he said sounding very much like a man who would be into the idea of some revenge, undoubtedly served cold.
He’s also spoken about his life at Arsenal, and how he’s learning defending from both Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny, and some key commands from the man in goal.
“I want to stay here for a very long time, I don’t speak the language yet but I feel at home and this club is perfect for me.
“Having two players to learn from like Per and Laurent is a gift from God. I am shadowing them and picking up lots of things. Iwant to learn more from Laurent he is really good at coming from behind and taking the ball, I’d like to bring that to my game
“Cech is a great keeper he talks to me a lot, I have learnt a few phrases that I know he will say, he is a leader.”
It’s so far so good for Gabriel, there’s a lot of promise there, and let’s hope he keeps growing into this team.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Theo should work on decision making, rather than being more aggressive imo. I believe he is aggressive enough for striker. Walcott is our future and love the support he is getting. I hope he can continue his form and be unstoppable player us for many years to come.
