I remember reading once that Adriano is very close to Rosell. Rosell being Adriano's son's godfather or something of that sort. Only logical reason I can think of for desperately keeping and possibly extending a soon to be 31 year old, way past his prime player made of glass with diagnosed heart problems while there are 2 more players (Mathieu, Vermaelen) who can play his main position as backups to Alba.

Vermealen can play LB about as well as i can tbh.

Same goes for Adriano.

Read we sold Adama to Aston Villa on a 3 year deal with an option for a fourth worth €10 million, not sure if there is a buy back option or not.

With Pedro leaving you would figure they would at least consider giving this guy a chance, instead they spend 40M on a 30 year old injury prone player (even more ridiculous if the think Turan can be our new midfield maestro now that Xavi is gone). I don't under stand this clubs long term plan, when they intend to keep selling our future away and getting short term solutions.

Adama plays in Messi's position so... he wouldn't get playing time in at least the next 4-5 years.

Not trying to justify how they treat the cantera these days but it can't be easy holding onto attacking talent with players like Messi, Neymar and Suarez around.

More so if LE prefers experienced players as subs. Those who know how to hold onto a lead in late stages of the game.

Also, I don't think Adama really suits La Liga's style of play. IMO leaving for BPL is the best step in his carrer at the moment.
