Pep said in the press conference he takes the contest very seriously, though he probably meant as a serious test of where his team's at, I don't think even he cares about the trophy itself.

The German players traditionally barely register it as a cup, it's mostly reported on as a fancy test match, and the players treat it as such.

That being said I'm sure Pep will be pleased that his constant changes are continuing to ensure Bayern won't win an international trophy yet again. Agent Pep at full throttle!

Who cares about the Super Cup? Bundesliga, UCL and the Cup are truly important for Bayern. I never rated the Super Cup, especially any other supercup than the Spanish one and the English one.

I agree with your point. But still, I wouldn't judge Pep for this loss. I would judge him for other things that went wrong since he is at Bayern.

To be more specific, if he had won UCL or at least play the final, both the fans and the staff from the club wouldn't have had a problem with a loss in the Super Cup. But yes, with the actual situation, Pep isn't in a bright position.

Not to mention the style of play, less attractive and less efficient than it was before with Heynckes in my opinion.

Well, with the SuperCup it is always that the loser says it is a Mickey Mouse Cup and for the winner it's a domestic trophy that looks nice in the trophy cabinet.

You bet that Pep is not amused that in his 3 years in Germany there is a trophy that always eluded him even though he has the best and most expensive squad in the league! He's a perfectionist after all.

As for Wolfsburg, it was the trophy that completed their domestic collection, and getting one over Bayern is always a nice thing, especially as it gives the players the conviction that Bayern are not unbeatable after all.
