If your TV tears its MCL and is out for three months, you don't make staring at a trash can (Flamini imo tbh) your alternative, you buy a new one.

You can always have two TVs. One for the living room and one for the man cave.

Yeah because that's the reason (:
You're right, I'm exaggerating. They can and will win it anyway.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
Wenger panicked for less in 13/14.
Though I suspect he won't this time, with Chambers being seen as a legitimate option to cover for Flamini/Ramsey/Arteta.
One more injury and I think he'll go for a Kallstrom-esque player.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
Would be truly bizarre if we signed no one given how long so many of our CMs are out.
Then again, it was utterly bizarre not to have signed anyone this summer.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
we Didnt know about Monreal until deadline day and when Gabriel rumours first broke we all dismissed them
and both were apparently supposed to be signed following summers and and we moved earlier as the situation dictated
now Midfield market might be different but as long as January signings go there can be a hope! [for Legit/planned reinforcement not stop-gap]

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
Everton's McCarthy would be a decent midfield option, to be honest. Good age, good talent, but not of the level where he would expect to be an automatic starter as the injured players start coming back. Might be difficult convincing Everton to sell though since he just signed a new deal, so price could be an issue.

Jan Hagen @Portuball
For the third time in a week Arsenal sent scouts to watch Porto last night, and A Bola believes it's "exclusively" to watch Rúben Neves.
Neves being an 18 year old DM. Recently captained Porto. Would likely cost a lot.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
Anyone hoping to play in the Euros will have to be guaranteed some playing time but given the fact that they'd be competing with currently injured players who don't play for their international sides (Coq and Arteta atm, Flamini in two games when he breaks his nose after trying to two-foot someone), they'd have a decent chance of becoming mainstays until the end of the season if they play well.
Either that or a stop-gag loan signing but I'm really hoping we go for someone young-ish and capable of becoming a starter. Need to prepare for a future without three midfielders in Arteta, Flam and Rosicky. Granted, former two are different positions to the latter but the point remains that we're depleted in the area and the others we already have there have shady injury records.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
According to izvestia.ru Arsenal trying to sign striker Alexander Kokorin for £6m in Jan, his contract expires in the summer
------
iirc he has 85 sprint speed and acceleration. Decent finisher. Hyped him before WC14 but he disappointed in there.
for 6m, why the f not?
Doesn't seem like a complete scrub either.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
I don't know too much about Kokorin from firsthand viewing cuz I don't watch a lot of the Russian league. But I know he's been an up-and-coming figure from that part of the world for a few years now.
Good physical presence, good age, respectable (not stellar) stats ... for the price I suppose it would be a good gamble, it just doesn't seem to make sense given the personnel Arsenal already have in the squad. Is he crucial and a major upgrade where we already have Giroud, Walcott, and Welbeck? Probably not. But if there's anything to these rumors (big IF) then presumably Wenger sees something special in him, so ...
