Gonna check out The Leftovers first. Heard great things about it & I still got 11 days left of my HBO account.

The Leftovers really came into its own during the second season but the first season might be hard to get through.

Tried to get into Leftovers but it was too depressing. can't be arsed watching a show about people mourning the loss of their loved ones. stopped watching it after 5 episodes.

Also found that the directors aren't going to explain the Departure event, apparently they like to keep things ambiguous and let viewers interpret them. please, ain't nobody got time fo dat.

To clarify, I'm a huge fan of the books. Not so much the show after what they did in that first season. It had a lot of promise, but ended up being garbage. It was an MTV-sanctioned LOTR parody.

Haha yea. Had high hopes and the trailer was really good. The hype was legit. Then I stumbled upon the 1st episode and aw god. It was horrible. Seemed like teen wolf and twilight. Didnt watch after that. MTV!! rofl

Watched the pilot for The Leftovers. Decent but idk if i'm gonna continue watching it. If it's just full simping/mourning bs 24/7 then cba.

It did give me a minor LOST vibe lol

Miss that show ffs think i'll rather rewatch that than continue with Leftovers

Got the same feelings when I watched the pilot. There's also the obnoxious teen drama in it that I just couldn't stand.

The Leftovers snubbed badly rofl no nomination for Theroux or Carrie Coon. Shit award show.

Hard for them to award the right things when it's impossible to watch everything. But Theroux and Coon not getting nominations is awful. Theroux was a lot better than Malek imo. Emilie Clarke and Maisie getting nominated... Kill me.

Watched the pilot. Makes you watch the next episode.

Seems quite decent. 80s setting done well. Good mystery/sci fi element. Good acting.

Binged Stranger Things in 2 days. I thought it was a very smart matchup of Spielberg/X Files/Stephen King. I'm a little too old or young for the 'key demographic' (early teens & people that grew up in the 80s) but I thought it was very good. The ending where the kids criticize the loose ends in the D&D game felt very meta, definitely left enough things up in the air for a 2nd season.

Best not be a spoiler that BC.

3 episodes in and it's really good. Very well made. Definitely an 8.5/10 so far. I am not sure they had any demographic in mind tbh.
