Wonderful to hear that he will be using Ely and Romagnoli together, especially after describing the side as the strongest available to him.

We simply have to win but hopefully we'll begin to see signs of our midfield truly coming together and greater chemistry in attack.

I still have faith in the Monty - De Jong - Bertolacci midfield, but I'm slightly concerned that this was 2/3rds of the same midfield that got us to 10th last season. On the other hand, turning my mind to who played for us last season in midfield, Essien, Muntari, van Ginkel, and Poli are downgrades to say the least. I think that provided DeBeLivo stay fit we are likely to have a good season. I am now more-than-slightly concerned about what happens when one (or two!) of them get injured.

Personally prefer De Montolacci to De Bolivo but each to their own.

Really excited about the Romagnely partnership. If they put in a dominant performance today, maybe Sinisa will consider them as our first choice CB pairing for the start of the season. Would love to see that.

On the other hand, if they bomb today, that could open up a spot for Mexes or Alex. Sooooo, hope they do well.
