Liverpool v Bordeaux

Post by Art Morte on Wed Nov 25, 2015 2:05 pm

A victory would secure progress and give the chance to rest key players in the last game (against Sion). So, I'd like to play a full strength XI here and get the job done.

Full-strength, yes. Unchanged, perhaps not.

I'm thinking:

Mignolet
Clyne - Toure - Lovren - Moreno
Allen - Lucas
Ibe - Firmino - Origi
Benteke

Bring on Sturridge, Lallana and maybe Can/Milner for cameos to prepare for the weekend. Have to use Lucas since IIRC he's on a ban for yellow accumulation? Might make things a bit tough on the weekend.

Also by god we need some fullback depth. Clyne and Moreno are going to burn out.

Skrtel might not make it.

Mignolet
Randall - Toure - Lovren - Moreno
Allen - Lucas
Ibe - Firmino - Origi
Benteke
Rest Clyne at all cost. I think Moreno can start this one as he has not played much this season. Allen and Lucas does not look such a good combination on the paper at least. But Klopp might go ahead with it and I can definitely see Klopp dropping a CM for an extra attacker.
Kepp Studge, Coutinho and Lallana on the bench ready.

Starting guys like Allen, Origi, Randall... this risks a draw or defeat. I'd much rather play all the big players here to give us maximum chance of securing progress and then rest players against Sion. Plus it will be nervous if we need to get a win at Sion's place in the final round. This is the easier game, so don't rest anyone.

I would definitely start Can in place of Allen but I think Klopp might start him. Origi is an odd case, because with Sturridge back and seeing Firmino well in the other game, Origi needs to manage only with cup games and probably the last game against Sion in case we win this one.

Not worries at all. Think we'll win easy and have a chance to top the group against Sion.

Would like to see Chirivella play.

Coutinho (hamstring) and Skrtel (ill) are out, so that's two changes already. Toure and Benteke are the natural fillers. Also, I don't suppose we will/need play three CM against Bordeaux. Besides, the resurgence of Ibe deserves a recall too.

Sturridge, Allen and Origi to come off the bench.

Is Rossiter back yet? I thought he was supposed to be fully fit for the weekend (against City). I wonder if maybe he'll get a run out.

I think Milner will be on the wing in a 4-2-3-1 with Firmino behind Benteke with Ibe on the other flank. I don't care as long as we win!

Ibe once again the best player on the pitch.

Allen has been really good too.

Simon "Good Enough" Mignolet

Anyway, if he's not replaced we'll never win anything.

Allen has been good ! Lovren also made one brilliant pass which created a good chance in the end. Ibe needs to have more end product after all those good skills. They are marking Firmino heavily and he is almost out of the game. Rest of the team imo are not playing so good apart from some moments of brilliance.
