Pique: Xavi's done no wrong

Gerard Pique has defended Barcelona team-mate Xavi following Arsene Wenger's criticism of the Spain midfielder.

Wenger blasted Xavi after the Spain international made comments about Cesc Fabregas' proposed transfer from Arsenal to Barcelona, but Pique doesn't think Xavi is in the wrong.

"Barcelona and its players have always spoken with respect. Any player would suffer when there is so much talk about his future and when you don't know where you will play next term. It's not disrespectful to say this out loud," Pique said to Sport.

"I know what the situation is like. We should leave Cesc alone and show patience. There's still plenty of time to complete his proposed transfer. It doesn't help to talk about it all the time."

Pique's comments are unlikely to ease Wenger's pain, with the Arsenal boss also currently embroiled in a similar public row with Roberto Mancini regarding Samir Nasri.

I just posted a read tht just infuriated me...where it goes down i can't say, i've never been involved in one of them but honestly im tired of this bs from xavi, pique...the two of them can go suck on it as much as they want..if barca want fabregas let em pay for him and let's all sleep well...

Barcelona going broke, they cant afford Cesc, I mean whats 5 million to a big club, and for a player who has their DNA. Barcelona players should pay that 5 million so Cesc stop suffering.

Of course i am. It is idiotic when you consider we paid 25m for Chygrinskiy and we cant pay 40 or higher for Fab.

And to top it all off, we are just using the wrong tactics here. Speaking in the media in this manner will only make Arsenal and Wenger adamant about not selling Fab if they were only reluctant before and you end up losing a lot of goodwill. It is a lose-lose scenario considering Cesc will be benched if he comes.

I am annoyed by it, because they are acting like twats just so they can sign a player that is'nt needed and never will be needed when you are in desperate need of a CB.

If Fabregas signed a new contract at Arsenal and told Barca to GTFO, no Arsenal fan would be more happy than me i assure you.

I am not pleased with Cesc either, btw. He should not be talking to his Barcelona friends about wanting to come to Barcelona. He knows what is going on in the media and still he goes and talks to everyone.

Wot LOL, the whole Barca section feel's the same way as him, infact the majority of us dont want him, We think it's stupid to hang your reputation out to dry just so you can sign a player you dont even need.

It's pathetic, if you really think any Barca fan's are behind the way the club is behaving then i dont know what to say.
