30 mins played at OT and zero goals. United are going to have to pull their finger out if they want to score 19

I do wonder if United had to win 3-0 to get 4th. Would they have been able to?

Re: Barclay's Premier League '15-'16 discussion V10
The thing about Smalling is when he was playing well this season, he was essentially like a one man defense for us. Often had to do the work of himself and of the midget Blind.
I think all of his competition like Morgan, Alderweireld etc had the luxury of playing in a settled team and with settled players, whereas for Mike Smalling it was like a revolving door around him especially our full back situation this season.
However shite we have been this season in attack ,we do have the best defensive record in the league, so I think Smalling is kinda deserved even notwithstanding the fact that he fell off in the end.
But then Leicester defense had a terrible first half of the season as well if you recollect. Morgan, Fuchs and co were nowhere in picture, it was all about Vardy and Mahrez.
So I think it has been between Smalling and Alderweireld this season and both have been kinda on par.

Smalling was playing for an ultra-careful team. Hello, the back- and sideways passes records. He was good, but the whole of his midfield was practically in a defence-first mode. Morgan and Huth formed a truly formidable partnership later on and it was those 1-0 wins that won Leicester the title.

I wouldn't say so. They signed 12 frigging players last summer. He put money in the team. Like with Ashley, the failure happened elsewhere.

That doesnt erase their bad spells. does it ? Teams were scoring 2-3 goals against them continuously during that time.
If you are saying these later 1-0s were the reason they won the title, now looking back I think I can also argue Vardy scoring those bucketloads of goals in the 1st half of the season and Mahrez creating those chances, bringing them back like repeatedly after going 1 or 2 goals down where the reason that they won the title as well.
As far as LC is concerned it has been a story of 2 halves and 1st half belonged to their attacking players where as the 2nd belonged to their defenders and midfielders.
Dont get me wrong I am not trying to undermine their performances which have been nothing short of masterclass. But over the course of the entire season it was the Smallings and Alderweirelds who have been better, i may be wrong but thats at least what i think.
And as far as United's playing style is concerned, its not a big factor. Yes we were utlra defensive, but teams were creating lots and lots of chances against us all the same in spite of that. It was basically Smalling and De Gea who were saving our asses almost entirely the season.

One game to go till LVG'S torturous reign is over. His sacking will be my favourite moment since we won the title. I'm going to celebrate it just as hard.

Not really. But the club have been quick to deny anything other than LVG staying on beyond this season.

I think we plan to sack him, But we'll announce it after the decision next week. Depends on how long as well. Anything above 6 months and he's done.
