Re: Man U already delusional lol
Daily Mail wrote:Manchester United are exploring the potential of a sensational move to bring Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi to Old Trafford.
Sportsmail can reveal that United have made two approaches in the last three weeks in an attempt to gauge whether a move for the Argentine might be possible.
Any move is more likely to be with a view to United returning to the Champions League under Jose Mourinho in 2017-18.
A deal for Messi would smash the £85.3m world record transfer that Real Madrid paid Tottenham for Gareth Bale.
Messi's current deal at the Nou Camp is set to expire in 2018 and it has emerged that he will require certain assurances if he is to remain at Barcelona, where he has scored an astonishing 453 goals in 531 games.
United have consistently set their sights on the world's biggest names under the stewardship of executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and have made attempts to resign Cristiano Ronaldo in recent times, while they have also pursued Bale and Neymar in the last year.

Re: Man U already delusional lol
why not? You're pretty much the only club that could actually afford to buy Messi and pay his wages without breaking too much of a sweat.
With Ed's known history of big name signing muppetry I wouldn't be too surprised if he 'made contact' from time to time

Re: Man U already delusional lol
Utd also "pursued" Ramos as well. So as much as the Daily Mail reports whatever they feel to make up at that day, Utd "contacting" Messi is not outside the realms of the impossible or the unbelievable.

Pretty sure most clubs " contact " Messi or his agent quite regularly
You'd be foolish not to.

Re: Man U already delusional lol
We also have to remember how many players rejected them in this period
From Vidal,Thiago to even Lacazette recently who took a swipe at them about them playing in the EL.
They got Di Maria alright but it was more like a 1 yr loan deal who then decided to make the step up to a better team
(:

Re: Man U already delusional lol
we signed di maria when he was a top 3 player in the world too bad LVG is a maniac
S throwing shade again when they can only sign players on loan, youth or that are well past it
at least we can attract players in their prime even when playing EL (:
Juve are a selling club

True. They'll sell Man United's best youngster ever for a 80m profit.

I rather our team be a selling team(even if thats a wrong assumption) than spend 300M on trash or spend obscene money on quality just to be seen as 1-2 yr pitstop so they could move to bigger, better and more ambitious teams.
I really cant wait for Perez to activate De Gea's buyout clause
Richest club in the world not just bending over to whores like Mendes but also to their own players. What a beautiful sight.

Juve - United banter is always a good read but that is a prime knockout there.

As a matter of fact, i wont be surprised even if something as outrageous as that has actually happened with someone like woodnut in charge of transfers.
And yet here we are sceptical and everything as regards to appointing a DoF.

Re: Man U already delusional lol
It would be except they didn't buy PSG's best player... Ibra was let go for free because PSG wanted to keep Cavani AND they didn't feel a team built around Ibra on the attack could win the CL.
As the PSG president said shortly after being knocked out by Manchester City: "We're never going to have a chance at the champion's league if we continue like this. It's time that we made some changes." That sealed both Blanc's and Ibra's futures. Only time will prove if the right decision was made.
Getting facts straight would be nice.

Re: Man U already delusional lol
Ibra was still PSG's easily best player -- whether or not that team was built to succeed is irrelevant, and I hate ManU.

Everybody and their momma knows Zlatan was their best player... Like seriously, even their moms think Zlatan is the best in PSG.

Re: Man U already delusional lol
It wasn't about who the best player on PSG was... Ibra asked for a 2 year extension and PSG said no. They either were going to keep Cavani and let Ibra go or vice versa.
The decision was made that PSG could not win the CL with Ibra. Domestic cups mean little to them right now... and Ibra has consistently been average or flopped in the big elimination round games for PSG. Once he was a no show against City, he was done. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.
If the best player isn't the one that was going to carry PSG to the CL... then what was the point? PSG decided to build around someone else. Or I feel they aren't going to build around a player anymore. Emery is looking to build around a team concept of shared responsibility as opposed to superstars... although they have superstars.
