It wasn't about who the best player on PSG was...  Ibra asked for a 2 year extension and PSG said no.  They either were going to keep Cavani and let Ibra go or vice versa.

The decision was made that PSG could not win the CL with Ibra.  Domestic cups mean little to them right now...  and Ibra has consistently been average or flopped in the big elimination round games for PSG.  Once he was a no show against City, he was done. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

If the best player isn't the one that was going to carry PSG to the CL... then what was the point? PSG decided to build around someone else. Or I feel they aren't going to build around a player anymore. Emery is looking to build around a team concept of shared responsibility as opposed to superstars... although they have superstars.

They got rid of Ibra, so I can only imagine good things for PSG at the CL. Semifinalists this season unless they meet Barça.
