Where did you get the Khedira injury stuff from ? Haven't read it anywhere. Would have known it on Twitter if he really suffered a serious injury. It most likely must be a hoax.

I swear someone posted it in the Juve forum, I'll try to find it but it was the first I heard of it also, so maybe it was just a rumour

It isn't reported anywhere on Italian outlets. It's definitely BS.

-20 Benatia

thats 55m Spent if I'm not missing anyone. Wonder how much will be spent on Pogba's replacement.

A whole list of names are thrown around atm.

Matic is the top target according to Sky.

Then there are names like Witsel, Hector Herrera, Brozovic,  Sissoko being thrown around.

I would like to think that Pjanic as the Pogba replacement anyway.

I bet you Matuidi goes to Juve. He's available. Rabiot is preferred by Emery.

Matic is going nowhere according to Conte. Doesn't really seem to be any other alternatives out there for Juve fans to get excited over. Matuidi is a good shout I guess Sports. Haven't seen anyone but us (as a Pogba alternative) linked with him and by all accounts he is free to leave PSG for a price, Don't know if Juve fans would be up for that move but I think it's better than  Witsel/Sissoko/Fellaini. Imagine he would be slightly cheaper too

From Juve section :

S wrote:Updating in and out list.

In :
Higuain - €90M
Pjanic - €32M
Alves - €0
Benatia - €3M loan
Pjaca - €23M
Lemina - €9.5M

Total : €157.5M

Out :
Morata - €30M
Padoin - €0.6M
Caceres - €0
Rubinho - €0
Magnusson - €2.5M
Buchel - €1.2M
Gabriel Appelt - €2M

Total - €36.3M

So assuming Pogba's fee amounts to €110M, that's a net spend of ~€11M. And we still got Pereyra, Zaza, Hernanes and Isla to sell. Possibly Lemina too.

One on one miss against Casillas in the world cup.

2012 CL final where one player hasn't choked as much as Robben did in the same match until he scored the match winner in 2013.

When Robben can overcome his choking demons , why can't Higuain too ? It's not like this team is going to be over-reliant on him. It just takes one good non choking performance in a final to erase memories of the past.

Very good example. One difference I see is that Robben had that phase in which he choked and he later came out of it. Before that though he had some really good big matches, especially for Holland. Higuain on the other hand has had this label stamped on him for a very long time and each year he tends to do something to make it even more prominent. Sad

Fellaini? Are you serious? If that guy plays for your club you will probably want to personally come on the pitch and throw him out of the game. Let him go to Sunderland please and after that to China. Also let him never play for Belgium again.

The big Higuain chokes have mostly been in finals , all with Argentina . Not defending it but to be fair Messi has also choked with his NT.

Higuain's CL record is poor but again it's been looked upon the same way as Tevez' CL record was until he became a decisive player for us. To blame him for choking in CL is harsh.

Pogba brings us roughly even, without even making other sales.

So basically we have several sales + our actual Summer budget to fix our midfield and replace outgoing players with alternatives.

Not a problem at all.

It's more than that.  He choked hard for Madrid in Barca and Atleti games...  not to mention massive fails in CL elimination round games against Bayern, Lyon and Barca.

He also missed a PK that would have allowed Napoli to continue in CL this season I think... or maybe it was the last.  Missed a lot of PKs lately.

I remember seeing Higuain goof up in key games for Real Madrid although off hand I cannot think of any examples right now. Tevez wasn't an outstanding big match performer but I doubt he was ever considered a flop. He could have good games, average games and below average games as well but he would not be expected to miss a sitter.

Bottom line: No need to be a revisionist. Higuain has been a massive choker on the big stage through this summer even. BUT, he had a big season at Napoli this past year no doubt and, at the very least, he will make Juve quasi unbeatable in league play.

Once you get to that key elimination round game against a big opponent... maybe he'll buck the trend of his whole career.

Personally, I think Dyballa is a better player period and Mandzu has a far far better big game mentality. So Juve don't really need to count on Higuain necessarily in those anyhow.
