I haven't contributed before to this section even though I have been lurking something like 4 years, but I just can't hold myself back anymore I haven't been this excited for a new season ever before. I believe Conte is the right man to take this club back on track after last year's disaster. I like his attitude and passion for football and our lads clearly need someone who teaches them some grit and steel. For the game, I think it will be very tough game because we are still learning the "Conte way" and westham aren't bad at all. I have been busy so I haven't watched a single minute of pre-season so this is my first time to see the team in action after Hiddink. According to you guys Aina has been pretty good in the previous games so I guess he should be starting . Anyhow, can't wait for the game to start and if I gather my courage I might throw my opinion around here more than I have been doing in the last years

Aina should be starting because he has pace and can defend against Payet, or Ayew, or Feguoli, or whoever he faces on the wing.
Ivanovic will just get destroyed again.

Wow, a manager encouraging us forward at a 1-0 lead. What novel phenomenon is this?

We were solid but not clean. I liked our team's spirit, the aggressiveness and proactive play, but there were a lot of imprecisions and misunderstandings in our play. Which I guess is totally fine and to be expected considering it's Conte's first game.
Moses, Pedro and Bat had a tremendous impact when they came on. I can't remember the last time we had players subbed in that created havoc, or at least a tangible change under Mou. Having valid options from the bench to utilize during a game will be crucial

I agree, Although, I think Cuadrado will probably replace Pedro for the RW spot.
As time goes on, we'll get better and better, this is just the start and it's a very positive one

Yea, I forgot about him. There's also RLC and Cesc. Distinct improvement from the days when we used our substitutions exclusively to either chaotically sub in as many strikers as possible and hoof it up when in need of a goal or Mikel when one goal up to park the bus.Kick wrote:I agree, Although, I think Cuadrado will probably replace Pedro for the RW spot.
