Also sell Jon Toral if he isn't already going on a free, I suppose. He's looked really, really promising in highlights - enough to sustain a top flight career? - but by now it should be clear if he'll be good enough for Arsenal, and if not, get a little money from his transfer.

Asano I'm kind of on the fence about. Maybe one more season somewhere to see how he could yet develop? But if forced I'd say, sell him too.

Put Bielik in the squad if we persist with back three. If not, another loan.

I'm in favor of keeping homegrown, club-trained Szczesny (assuming Ospina goes). I'm also in favor of keeping Chambers, but again, only if we stick to the back three option. If not, he could be a valuable young English asset who could bring us transfer cash.

In other news, Newcastle could be interested in Gibbs, which might be a good move. I like and respect Gibbs, and even if he never reached the heights we'd all hoped, I think he's a good top-flight player and will be an excellent capture for a club outside Europe.

There are also rumblings that Ox will sign a new contract over 100k/wk. This could be comparable to the case of Theo, who's proven neither useless dead wood, nor key player, but expensive all the same. But it's a gamble I'm happy to see the club make, if true.

Arsenal have opened talks with Lyon for Alexandre Lacazette

Premier League side Arsenal have in recent hours opened discussions with Lyon over the possible transfer of striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to BeIN Sports.

This news comes minutes after it emerged that the Gunners have certainly been outbid by Real Madrid for AS Monaco forward Kylian Mbappé in terms of barebones figures at least, as revealed by RMC.

Lacazette was due to join Atletico Madrid this summer before the Court of Arbitration for Sport maintained their recruitment ban, blocking the French international from moving this summer to join Diego Simeone’s men.

Lyon’s asking price is €60m.
