Re: Watford vs Arsenal (16/17)
Watford have been horrendous. Literally sleep walking all half
Alexis is having a top game. He's dropping off a lot and drfiting to the left but he's got Ozil making runs. Ozil can do that now that he doesn't have to worry about getting on the ball with Xhaka and Santi in there.
Xhaka's long range passing has been outstanding.
One or two hairy moments at the back but otherwise it's been very comfortable. Hope we don't switch off in the second half.

Not bad so far - you can see a few things starting to fall into place.
Holding's inexperience comes through at times, but man, what a great pickup this guy was. I look forward to his development.
Walcott has been industrious. I think one aspect of his game that I've overlooked or underrated, personally, is how he uses his pace to make attacking interceptions or pressure opponents in the final third.

This is the perfect opportunity to stat pad and build that goal difference. Just need to keep it tight at the back and stay patient. Watford will come forward and we can just hurt them with our pace. Hopefully Ox, Theo and Alexis grab a goal

There was that period where Watford seemed to wake up and come at us but we saw it out in our own unconvincing way. Cech had to make an excellent stop to prevent an OG.
Thought that period showed how slow we are to defend transitions. The cover doesn't get back quick enough, puts a lot of pressure on the backline.

Need to show some game management, keep the ball and be patient. The chances will come, we are trying to force it too much.

Re: Watford vs Arsenal (16/17)
That was a terrible second half from us.
So many wasted counter attacks. Should have been 5 or 6 up, Ox could have had two tap ins at the back post. Then the defending for their goal Overloaded on the left hand side, Ox not even tracking back, then the ridiculous attempts at getting the ball clear.
After that it's panic time. Should be getting a hold of the ball and keeping it, but we just let Watford keep coming at us. Monreal was poor, constantly getting tight on Amrabaat and getting turned. Anyone else notice the three teams we've played so far have all targetted his side?
Good thing Cech was on his game today.
Ox is not going to have a career here playing like that. Just doesn't work hard enough. Compare him to Walcott, who wasn't always successful with his shooting/crossing, but worked for the team. You know it's bad when you're getting subbed off and Theo Walcott, known for not always working for the team, is moved over to your side to give better cover to Monreal.
This is why I really want us to sign a winger. Or we could have played Campbell. Might have been useful today.

Re: Watford vs Arsenal (16/17)
Oxlade will go back to the bench once the entire team is fit and available. Wasn't impressed by him at all today. Seemed a bit disinterested. Might be his last season with us.
Walcott was really good today. This is the Theo we need every week.
Ozil,Sanchez and xhaka our 3 best players. Sanchez MOTM.
Think Arsene is still not sure about the midfield. Can see more experiments

Oxlade has never been impressive when starting, much suited as a squad player to come off the sub. Hope he's happy with that.
Expecting this once everyone is fit over the next few weeks.
Cech
Bellerin - Koscielny - Mustafi - Monreal
Cazorla/Elneny - Xhaka/Elneny
Walcott - Ozil - Sanchez

Re: Watford vs Arsenal (16/17)
That line-up is pretty much our best 11, hope nobody get's injured till then.
This game was won in the first half plain and simple. Too bad we usually turn up like 1 in 10 games in the first half

Re: Watford vs Arsenal (16/17)
Impressed with Holding so far, still a little raw especially with the ball at his feet but his defending is decent. The guy can only get better with more training and game time. Playing against Vardy, Ighalo and Deeney is not a walk in the park but the guy did well overall. Now time for Mustafi to take over

Re: Watford vs Arsenal (16/17)
Tbh I felt last year we played best when Ramsey was our right winger, which allowed Bellerin more freedom going forward. We need Ramsey in the middle because otherwise we might be weak numerically but he's also an option there if we want to play a possession game and improve our pressing and defensive game.
Anyway today was really promising. Xhaka was excellent and gives us that midfield destroyer without sacrificing our passing game at all so I can see why we bought him. Cazorla playing deeper is huge for us too - with those two playing great passes early in our buildup play, we can cut teams apart a lot easier. Alexis did a great job with improved service and Theo is showing us that he cares about reviving his career. With the signing announcement, this was all in all a good day to be a Gooner (seems a while since I could say that).

Apparently Coquelin was going to start yesterday but he picked a knock at the last minute
This favouritism for Coquelin is disgusting.
