Nah that's a shitty bet to take. They are gonna finish in the top 9 quite easily.

Leicester was a finely balanced team. Take even one element out of it and it was sure to perform as the low to mid table club, that it was before. Wasn't it almost relegated the year before.

They have lost some key players and that's pretty serious for a team of their stature. They are still finding their feet and will comfortably finish top-half.

I hope they could redeem their glory as soon as possible. It's hard to keep up if they continue losing their matches.

Mahrez still has a chance to move to a higher level club next season.

Vardy is done.

Now that Chelsea, City and United are no longer player like pub teams it's hard to see them finish in the top 4 at all. Even Arsenal might have to work a little for finishing 4th now. I'd say lower Europa places.

They were offered contracts comparable to what they would get at a "bigger club", and they were assured the game time and role that saw them flourish in the season previous. Moreover, it's not as though they're staying with a bottom feeder that avoided relegation. They're in the CL this season, whether they move or not. There's literally no gain in terms of this season. Going forward, Mahrez will likely have another chance to move next season (there's probably a provision in the new contract that gives him an "out"). I actually think Vardy has made the decision to stay with Leicester out of loyalty and comfort with the setup.

I can understand Vardy's decision more than I can Mahrez's actually. Because of his age, Vardy probably got a longer contract with Leicester on similar terms compared to what other teams would offer.

But Mahrez was the player of the year, his value will only decrease from now on. Teams will be reluctant to pay what ever Leicester seem him worth for, he will not be able to command the highest wages as "the best player in the Premier League". There's the possibility that he will be stuck in Leicester for a couple of years. I think it's baffling, but he clearly believes he can repeat his previous season and leave next year/the year after that but it was an unnecessary gamble which can go either way imo.

Urban you're just salty Mahrez didn't go to Arsenal. And why should he? In Leicester he's a walking legend, in London he would be yet another underperforming signing. After a certain point money is just money, and tbf he's more likely to win a trophy where he is right now than at Arsenal.
