It's great. Especially the songs.

I saw Moana
7.9/10
Not bad for a cartoon.

I started Moana a few weeks ago, and after 5 or so minutes when I felt like this is just going to be another Disney-esque movie, I decided I can do something better with my time

It's exactly that. A Disney-esque movie.

Re: The Movie House - Part 9
had to read an essay on The Wailing after finishing it to clear up a lot of the confusion RG lol, it's actually a really solid and complex movie. One of the better horrors I've watched. Director is very talented, didn't realize he was the same guy who did The Chaser and The Yellow Sea. Love the way he shoots.
Main actor was also very solid. I love how expressive korean acting is, THe movie actually kept me up a little last night and that's unheard of. Ending was quite unsettling.
Just long AF and a slow burn, definitely need to be in the mood

Yep. That's why I have delayed it for so long. No highly rated 3 hour film can be watched randomly. I am more hyped now though if it really is complex. Lve slow burners so it's not a problem for me either.
Going to watch it soon.

It's a really slow burner though you will be tested. I watched it over 2 days with multiple pauses in between iirc.
But yeah, it has some genuine thought behind it.

Never seen Goodfellas (1990) so I watched it last night, and it comes to no surprise that it's so highly rated. Great cast and story. Joe Pesci as Tommy(?) was the highlight of the movie, he looked so small and yet so intimidating

Re: The Movie House - Part 9
One of the greatest scenes in cinema history. From one of the best films ever made. Seen The Dark Knight over 15 times now which is unusual for me as I rarely re-watch films. But every single time I get hooked like it's my first time watching it. Everything about this film is 10/10. The script, score, acting, directing, visuals. I am not sure Nolan will ever top this film despite making some amazing films already. I doubt I'll ever rate a film higher than this one. Closest to 10/10 rating I'll ever give. Film is so incredibly deep that you can analyse it for days. All the characters and the themes. Recently read an analysis on how joker is not the villain in this film and I couldn't help agree. You can't help pick up something new everytime you watch it. Amazing film at every level.
This monologue still gives me goosebumps every.single.time
Absolute joke that this wasn't nominated nevermind win the best picture award at the oscars Some crap films like Milk and The reader nominated instead Snubbed at the best director award too and the original score

Re: The Movie House - Part 9
Inception is the best movie of the 21st Century and it lost to the King's Speech
Jaike Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler delivered top 5 performance of the century, didn't even get a nomination.
There's a lot of robbery's and snubs in Oscar history.
Even this year Amy Adams should have won Best Actress and she wasn't even nominated.

King's Speech
One of the worst oscar nominated movies ever
This is why The Academy sucks, full of old farts, conservatives, and arrogant old pricks.
Inception is one fine ass movie but for me, i think everyone knows already what my best movie of the 21st century is.
Gylenhaal not winning for Nightcrawler was nothing short of a crime/infraction of the law, but yeah, Eddie Redmayne wins for portraying a disabled guy, DiCaprio wins it for acting in pain, something so easy, give me 50mil and i'll give you the best performance of pain you'll ever see. The nuances of acting make the best performances, the subtleties, the tinge or tingle of an eyebrow, the facial gesticulations, not teeth grinding and moaning sounds in the snow on repeat for 90 mins. Same thing with Redmayne except you might as well cast a doll

Tom hardy's performance was better than his but not many will admit that. Still an amazing film though

Yep, and don't you dare admit that in public, lest you get lynched by DiCaprio apologists who probably also think he should have had 9 oscars previously
