ES wrote:Let me ask you this: where do you see player valuations in 10 years? Because this bubble will burst, be it forcibly or naturally. Its only a matter of when, and when that happens, i can see a domino effect with banks/clubs, and the clubs will be the ones paying for it
it's only really the top PL clubs that are throwing ridiculous sums around. Madrid and Barca do it when a generational player crops up for the most part. I don't see that changing, football revenue just keeps growing and growing. That growth will stagnate but it's still going to remain absurdly high, especially for PL teams.
Even Juventus paying a ridiculous fee for Higuain was almost certainly spurred on from the sale of Pogba.
Mid-table clubs in the top leagues are still operating the same way they did 10 years ago.

I think Martial and Renato Sanches sales will give caution to a lot of big teams too. As rich as we are, you can't keep splashing sums like that on players that fail to deliver. I don't see unproven youngsters going for 50+m being the norm going ahead. But in 10 years I definitely see top players like Higuain, Pogba, Bale, etc, still going for 80-100m and the players a tier below that going for 30-40m.

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
You have benchwarmer scrubs like Schneiderlin going for 30m now
Batshuayi 40m
Sissoko 30m
Ayew 25m
Bolasie 30m
Janssen 25m
Do these figures seem inflated to you? I mean sure you have to factor in contract time/non-material stuff. But, in 10 years time, would these players go for even higher figures? The answer is probably yes. Thats my issue, who benefits most from this besides obviously the top tier clubs? Would PL midtable clubs even afford to pay more for these guys in 10 years time?

Only two of those are from mid table clubs.
One of which were because Everton got shit loads for Stones.

Martial delivered big time last season... He was clearly Man U's best attacking player. He never even got a chance this season because of his personality (or whatever) conflict with Mourinho.
Not sure what you need to be cautious about with him. He just needs to go to a club with a manager who doesn't value DMs over strikers.

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
Well, let's just tie the lad down to a long contract first and worry about the money later. Only has less than 2 years I think. If he keeps playing like this I can legit see Barca coming sniffing. Would be perfect for their failing midfield in place of jokers like Gomes.
As for Lingard earning 100, sigh. But then again, seeing ordinary talentless poverty dabbing jobbers like Hesse making it big, I think on a more human level, it gives me a lot of hope going forward in life.

#Inter are interested in #Tottenham CB Toby #Alderweireld. He has exit clause of €28m and doesn't want to extend his contract (Sky Italia)

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
smells like bs unless the clause has no PL club stipulation, because he's a VERY solid CB signing for that kind of money and would be on the radar for City/Utd/Chelsea.

Agreed he is a very good CB. CBs are best when they turn 26-27, they are mature and know what they are doing on the pitch. Would start for any team in PL imo

He's actually very good. Have you not watched some Madrid games this season.
There's a reason they rejected it.

Jese blew out his ACL and lost his explosiveness... pre-injury Jese was a beast. During his rehab, he decided he was a singer which didn't help lol.
Asensio is not a speedster. He's more in the mold of David Silva, Mata, Isco and Iniesta. Has a lot of skill to him. Safer bet imo.

Juve are in pole position to sign Tolisso. Lyon wants €45m to sell him. Inter, Milan, Spurs, Arsenal & Man City are interested. (L'Equipe)
Clearly a good player. Only problem for me is that he's French so won't be overly upset if we miss out on him tbh.
