Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 || Klopp Revolution back with a Vengeance
Jurgen Klopp‘s first signing of the summer looks set to be the addition of a new physio to his backroom staff, recruiting Christopher Rohrbeck from former club Mainz.
this is good news we need as much help with injuries as we can get.

The play off is after the PL starts. Klopp loves training, No way we will go into the preseason without 90% of our work done.
Plus huge risk waiting and missing out on players if we somehow fail with the CL.

Liverpool should go hard after Goretzka tbh. We'll take him no problem, next season on a free, but our midfield is going to be rather crowded.
Liverpool should just throw money at him, as like with Sané we feel entitled enough to expect him as a bargain.

This summer will determine if we're a big club or a great Everton.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 || Klopp Revolution back with a Vengeance
Don't think we can class this as a rumor anymore, considering most major media are reporting the approach, and journos close to both clubs are saying that we're some combination of: still in talks with Roma, offering a 90,000k a week contract, and close to agreeing a fee somewhere in the range of £35m. At this point, it seems like Salah is going. We've reportedly done much of the legwork to get him here. However, it would not be the first time were we to be gazumped by a more free-spending club.iftikhar wrote:Any substantial/trustworthy lead regarding the Salah rumor???
Strangely enough, I'm relatively confident about this window. Moreover, I don't think players are waiting for the CL playoff. That's not really "a thing"... The only reason transfers happen after that is if the Club need to ensure the funds will be available, or they simply haven't done the work ahead of time. By all accounts, neither is the case for us. We've been widely reported to have already approached our main targets, with Klopp taking a central role in convincing players. We also have the money to spend. Between our revenues, PL TV money, and a net spend of effectively nothing last summer, there's plenty to spend. Most importantly, the club seems aware of the need to acquire top-end talent, as well as bolster the squad size, in this window.
Unlike past windows (I'm thinking of the summer of 2014, here), we look to be doing all the right things. We'll see if it comes to fruition. There are certainly no guarantees anything comes off. But, that's sport, isn't it? There are never any guarantees.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 || Klopp Revolution back with a Vengeance
Seems like we are getting Salah after all. While it can turn out to be great deal, two things keep bugging me:
1. At £35 million (€40 million) he will be one of the costliest acquisitions of our history. More importantly,
2. Where would he fit in??? Him and Mane shares some key attributes (speed, eye for goal) that can devastate opponent. Only trouble is both excels in their preferred RW position.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 || Klopp Revolution back with a Vengeance
1. We all need to throw our perceptions of reasonable transfer figures out the window. We saw the beginnings of it last summer, but the full effect of the PL TV money is starting to show now, and the prices have absolutely gone through the roof. If you would like a frame of reference, ManU look to be getting Perisic (same league, similar position, older, lower production) for £45m. In that context, £35m for Salah looks like a steal.iftikhar wrote:Seems like we are getting Salah after all. While it can turn out to be great deal, two things keep bugging me:

2. Easy... He plays LW, opposite Mane at RW (or vice versa). I honestly don't think it matters. Salah is left-footed and Mane is right footed. Therefore, whatever tactic you wish to employ, both players can employ it on either side ofthe pitch. Moverove, both have played the opposite wing, as well. It all depends on how you wish to attack the opposition.
More importantly, Klopp's comments at the end of the season suggest that Coutinho will mostly be played as a CM/CAM next season. That allows us to deploy Salah and Mane on either side of Firmino. Combine Firmino's tendency to drop deep and pull defenses out of shape with Salah and Mane's pace and eagerness to run in behind, and you have an absolutely mouth-watering prospect.

VVD to city, if true and a lack of quality CB options are available, surley we have to fix this sahko issue. Still boggles me if we don't get VVD that were ganna get a scrub and let sahko leave. Man this is the club who tried *bleep* fix ballotelli surely we can try sahko one more time

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 || Klopp Revolution back with a Vengeance
The Sakho issue is not going to get 'fixed'. Klopp threw him out, as far as we can gather due to multiple indisciplinaries, and that's the end of the story.
As for Salah, he's mainly a right winger, just as Mané. And just like Mané, he will be gone in January to the ACN.
So while he's probably a good player by now who can improve you, it's still a bit strange. You need to have someone who can be there in January as well.
Let's not forget that the catastrophic January was the sole reason you're whole season went to shit (considering you were in both cups as well as the title race up to that point).

Looks like Salah will be the first major signing. I guess that's fine. As long we get a CB and a CM.
