We need both Memphis (who is already on his way) and Janssen to rediscover what made them successful in the first place and regain the confidence needed to have strong performances. It's kind of like a catch 22 in that a lot of players need to play well to have confidence and need confidence to play well. They just have to get their heads right. The reality is neither of those players should have gone to United or Spurs where they weren't going to have room to make mistakes as young players. There's a really interesting study on the effects of being a big fish in a small pond for development and confidence and how it relates to success that I've been reading lately -- and it definitely can explain a lot of these very talented players that fizzle out by moving to clubs too big for them too early.
