lmaoooooo Forget the ref PSG have been overrated and overhyped for the past decade.

Bale and Ronaldo would've had a field day the way Barca were set up.

The guy who officiated the game has been demoted and may never officiate in CL again

Colina should come to Spain. We would have no refs left

He had a great game tbh. Only mistake was the pen at the end. And that wasn't even such a huge blunder, yes it was a dive but the defender put his arm on Suarez. He booked Suarez for diving before, didn't give some other pens, led the game superbly.
It's not the referee's fault that PSG's overall bottling led that one call to have such massive consequences.

hmm

Do you honestly seen any ref giving that? I don't, even if it arguably should be a pen. This kind of contact is too indiscernible, and pens are rarely given if the striker gets a shot away.

I'm actually not kidding about the refs performance.
These kind of games have become virtually impossible to control. You have dirty unscrupulous poses like Suarez and Neymar literally diving, milking contact and playacting every minute.

At some point, you can't get every call right, theres just too many high pressure calls. Ref gets 5 very tough calls right (booking Suarez etc), then 1 wrong?

The ref actually didn't even decide on a pen for Neymar initially either, he listened to the box official.
He booked Busquets instantly for moaning which was very recommendable, he booked cavani for demanding a yellow.
I actually thought his game management was refreshingly strong.
At the end, he made a crucial mistake.

But again, PSG had a 4 goal lead. That one pen is crucial is not down to the referee hmm

Ref had a decent performance, they're scapegoating him because of all the pressure stupid people make by saying he favoured Barca

It comes as no suprise, salty people have to blame someone for this because surely not Barca just played good and deserved to go through, that would be insane to think of!

Suarez added a lot of acting to this but he was hacked from behind. Look at Marco's left leg in second replay, clearly gets Suarez

While I agree I don't think it matters.

They were 4-0 up and lost 6-1, no amount of bad refereeing makes up for that utter Disgraceful choke job.

Disgusting challenge from Marquinhos, I'm surprised he didn't get a red card and the penalty only counted for 1 goal.

Wow, great sarcasm.

The contact was there. Could have gone either way. Definitely doesn't scream the "greatest corruption of our time".........

I agree with those saying he's been scapegoated. Colina wants to be seen as someone who's very tough on poor refereeing performances but like Hans said Barca are filled with divers and playactors and you are bound to get at least 1 call wrong which is nornal. At the end of the day PSG only have themselves to blame

But it's good that he's taking care of upping the standards behind the scenes. If he continues to punish refs for poor games in Europe then I commend him but if he's just bowing to pressure then shame on him really.

The way Suarez sells that, you'd think he was barraged by tank shells. Incredible theatrics, think he's the 2nd best seller in the business after Lesnar

The greatest corruption of our time? - Page 5 Empty Re: The greatest corruption of our time?

I thought most people here were joking. The referee performance wasn't like Ovrebo ffs.

The Di Maria masch thing? Outta here. He shoots before Masch makes any contact with him. If you actually think there is anything there you're either anti Barca or an idiot. The first pen? Dude trips and literally runs into Neymar's legs. It's clumsy and unfortunate, yes, is it a penalty? Yes. You don't get clemency for being clumsy and unlucky. The Suarez foul? I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's soft, it's definitely soft there is no doubt about it. But as jibers and some others have pointed out, there is a very clear coming together of the legs. It's unfortunate and clumsy just like the previous, it's soft, but by the letter of the law those have been given before and it's not particularly outrageous. Sergi Roberto was obviously onside and anyone arguing otherwise is an idiot.

I'm not going to sit here and pretend like those calls aside, the ref was neutral. No, Barca were getting the better calls throughout the night for the most part. The ref was also in the center of 90,000 Barca fans watching the greatest UCL comeback of all time. Refs are human and it's not surprising it may have swayed him even if it's not supposed to.

If I can admit that, can others admit that none of the above events I mentioned were even particularly scandalous? They were all at least reasonable decisions.

Yes Suarez is a c-unt but there was contact and it can be argued that it could have easily gone both ways, so there's no big error from the ref here. The other time when he clearly dived without contact he received a yellow.

Why is the referee to blame here then?

Maybe that's why he blatantly went for the back of Di Maria's ankle, instead of looking at the ball? hmm I suppose Di Maria should've opted for a dive instead of shooting and getting hurt in the process. Sounds like a win/win alternative. Hell, that seems to be the right thing to do these days.
