absolutely amazing, this guy has about 20-30 actions in a game and not a single time do they end positively for his team

nothing ever comes out of anything he does, every single time he's blocked, loses the ball, skies a shot, has a pass intercepted

how is this player playing at Real Madrid?

He made a great pass to Kroos that resulted in Benzema being one on one with Neto, so he wasn't completely useless.

I agree with your overall assessment though, Vinicius hasn't developed as well as the club thought he would by now.

He also has reached the age where the excuse "but he's still too young to have decent end product" is no longer valid. He should sort it out and quickly, otherwise he'll end up being just another overhyped youngster with nothing to show for it.

He wasn't signed cause he's good. He (and Rodrigo) were signed because Pérez was too butthurt about missing out on Neymar.

I suppose the Rashford argument applies here. He wastes a lot of good opportunities to score, but he’s often the reason why many of those opportunities exist in the first place. Does that excuse him? I don’t know

No, the opportunities exist because his team is in possession and passes the ball to him in a position where he can go for a dribble

But it makes no difference whatsoever whether there would be me standing who loses the ball right away, or Vinicius who dribbles one and a half players 'successfully' and loses it then

as for Rashford, the problem with Rashford as far as I can see is that he's hit and miss, inconsistent. But he's also scored lots of goals and some important ones

I agree, and the same thing applies to Rashford and every other player. No end product, no point in praising what could’ve been, or what happened before nothing happened.

Vinicius has above average technical talent and flair, and it’s fun to watch when it’s used to it’s full potential, but his persistent lack of end product is a brutal bottleneck to his ability.

It’s a shame, because we don’t have any other player who can drive the ball forward like he does. If he had played with more maturity and composure to his game, he’d be exactly the type of player we need. We don’t have any better alternatives, so it is what it is.

Rashford is inconsistent, but I think his biggest issue, and the reason for his inconsistency is that when he doesn’t have a lot of room to work with, or when his team is struggling, his limitations become very evident. I’d much rather have a Rashford than a Vinicius over the course of a league season, to be honest - but in a match where my team is struggling to find space or create anything, I’d rather bet on Vinicius getting it right on one of his bombing runs towards goal, than Rashford somehow figuring out how to make himself useful.

Vini played well today despite being marked. Our right side is dead with the exception of valverde. Look where the goals came from. Giant gaps on the right side. Vini and Benz were heavily marked but that gave other players space

Can we please not compare Vinícius to Rashford? Rashford has actually had many MotM performances in his career, he still scores plenty every season despite missing heck load of chances. Vinícius on the other hand is all YouTube flashes but literally zero end product. Reminds me of Gervinho.
