They tried for a year, then tried to sell them with 2 years left in their contracts while continuing to try and extend them. Tried the whole way through.

It got ugly. I do agree that Dortmund aren't very good at transfers as these are just examples of several high profile blow ups. Hummels is another.

I don't know if Ligue One can do it really
But Bundesliga clubs' European results were incredibly bad this year.
3/4 relegated from CL to EL , while the clubs in EL were eliminated.

This is the product of the terrible last BUndesliga season, with Hertha, Köln getting EL, Hoffenheim CL quali, Leipzig CL, and all of Leverkusen, Gladbach, Wolfsburg, Schalke messing up big time, and on top of that the Dortmund downfall.
It's been no surprise that such a catastrophy in European competitions ensued.
The level of Bundesliga in the recent 18 months has been shocking.
