Likes of Luiz, Cahill, Moses, Alonso and Pedro over-performed relative to their actual ability. They've returned to their normal levels but Chelsea have nobody to replace them in the team, which is possibly why Conte was so upset about their transfer business.

Even Morata despite his goals is actually over-performing, in that some of his goals have come from low percentage chances.

He knew.

Aside from City didn’t Chelsea spent the second most in the PL this season in the transfer market?

Chelsea spent this summer either chasing players who were unattainable or players who went to play for other clubs (Lakuku and Danilo). As good as Conte is he doesn’t have that pulling factor that say someone like Pep would have.

At least Dembele can create, a player like him for Chelsea would be a god send at the moment. Nobody on Chelsea' team (except Hazard) can pass to the level he can, dribble and all in create opportunities for those around him.

Plus they have nobody on the level of Son or Alli, stupid comparison really.

to me those teams playing 3 CBS and almost 7 players are are seen as defensive players create chances off movements and runs. You dont necessarily need one guy that makes the difference but if they are running a counter and players are unselfish making runs, things will happen.

by the way, spurs are a team that do not win anything, 0 trophy, i would not use them in comparison

They spent plenty but the players they brought in aren't huge upgrades on what they had. Rudiger looks poor, Bakayoko has been inconsistent and even Morata isn't an improvement on Costa (well, mentally he is). Zappacosta might be better than Moses, but that's a marginal gain at best.

I genuinely don't know if that's Conte's fault or not but it's been a problem for them. Granted, it's still early so we shouldn't judge their signings too much.

Not when teams cover the runs you make it won't, you need people who can break down a team however that gets done.

Hazard is the only one on Chelsea who can do that, Spurs have multiple players and so does everyone else in top 6.

Not sure what CB's issue is tbh, it's clear as day they lack talent offensively.

Disappointed with main man Marcos today. Subbing your cf with a dm was daft daft move. Its never a good idea to give initiative to Chelsea especially in the end and especially at the Bridge, they always manage to score these late goals.

They're a fine comparison if we're talking about EPL teams that have had no problem creating chances the last couple seasons. I'm comparing teams of similar quality and trying to illustrate how you don't need to have 3-4 highly creative players in a team to do well in the EPL, since people are trying to tell me this Chelsea squad is shit. The argument is that Chelsea have the worst creative talent in the top six, and that's why their performances recently are perfectly acceptable. I'm trying to refute that argument by illustrating that Spurs have no more creative talent than Chelsea. Spurs are a fine example.

Dembele isn't a creator, he's a CM who carries the ball up the field without losing it and occasionally takes out a player via dribbling, but he doesn't dribble a helluva lot around the box at all, since him and Wanyama are responsible for staying back and snuffing out counter attacks due to the fullbacks pushing so high. Don't tell me a player like Dembele who has averaged probably less than 4 assists every season with Spurs is anymore creative than Willian or Fabregas lol

Son doesn't start for Tottenham and isn't creative in the slightest anyway, and you haven't really answered my question about who in the team is more created beyond a half hearted attempt at Dembele, which is a weak case. I mean I'll give you that he's better than Bayakoko, but he's not at the level of Willian or Fabregas. He's like Tom Cleverley level creative.

almost everyone that watched Monaco a lot last season said to be wary of Bakayoko. Shout out to Sportsczy, Chelsea fans were convinced they had the next Pogba on their hands though.
