Uefadrid will take either Besiktas or Liverpool with their awful defense. Slightly torn who Perez thinks is easier? Anyway pretty easy way to almost quadruble your villages.

So Chelsea-Barca is the most likely? That sounds like a fun game. Barca would be favorites but Chelsea should put up a fight.

Liverpool is gonna get wrecked unless they get Basel (assuming Madrid wake up).

Roma has a good chance vs most of those.

Under normal circumstances I wouldn't care about who. Barcelona (or any other team for that matter) gets in the draw. But when your close circle of Barcelona friends keeps whining about Madrid's alledged "favouritism" in the CL, I can't help but disagree, especially when I see this:

Real Madrid's possible opponents: Psg - Man.City - Man.United - Liverpool - Rome - Besiktas.

Barcelona's possible opponents:
Bayern - Chelsea - Shakhtar - Basel - Porto.

jesus christ, those second place teams..knockouts are gonna be ridiculous this year, gonna see a lot of top teams crash out

I honestly don't care who we get, such a hot and cold team that we could comfortably beat anyone and also get beaten by any of them, though obviously Porto would be a free ride.

Seems like Chelsea is bound to face Barcelona or PSG every year in Champions League...

You're fairly new at this? Real Madrid has 100% chance for Besiktas/Liverpool, depending what Perez chooses. He might actually take a risk with Liverpool (not with their defense) to not be so obvious, and lessen the mathematical proof of corruption. Then again there's no risk if you plant refs also in there.

You have to consider which opponents the other teams involved can get. You can't just look at 1 team and divide 100% by the number of teams possible because the draw is not symmetric for every team. The limitations of each team in terms of which other teams they can get are different, so you get uneven odds.

You won a CL where your path to the final consisted of Roma, Wolfsburg and Man City ( a Man City who finished 4th no less)

That's not necessarily true. For instance, Napoli won their group last year, but they ended up drawing Madrid in the round of 16.

The idea that finishing first guarantees an easy opponent is no longer valid because many top teams nowadays tend to be quite underwhelming in the group stage but they become different beasts once they reach the round of 16.

In this year's CL, you have Madrid, Bayern, Chelsea and Juventus all finishing second. Now, I'm sure you agree with me that a team like Roma who topped their group would rather draw another table topper like Besiktas than drawing any of the aforementioned and second-placed teams.

But this wasn't even my point btw. What I was trying to do, is squash the idea that Madrid gets special treatment in the CL. We may have been lucky at times with the draw, but there's no favoritism involved as shown by all the tough and possible opponents awaiting us in the round of 16.

It doesn't guarantee anything, but it does make the pool of possible opponents easier
