Arsenal Vs Manchester United
Lacazette out of the game. Sad!
I don't think we will win this one despite our great home record. Draw or we lose. Pogba is too much to handle for us and with Ashley young in this scary form. We don't really have a chance.

-----Mustafi-----Koscielny----Monreal----
Bellerin-----Xhaka----Ramsey------Kolasinac
-------Ozil------------------Welbeck

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
This is a huge game, no excuse I am sure our players are motivated and can get a positive result at home.
I can see a draw easily here with if we don't score early.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
was prepared for every scenario
we were making similar errors vs smaller teams
sure this time we got punished
our response after 0-2 was good enough
surprised at volume of chances we created felt like Ars-Utd clashes from the past really

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
Koscielny can barely play 1 match a week with his ankle. 3 a week is suicide. Looked slow and old.
Mustafi back to his old shit self.
But we didn't sign a CB because of what?

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
Anyways, We didn't really deserve to win after those 2 goals lol. Even the third one. We actually are this bad against most teams but teams like United, City and Liverpool capitalise on them (they all won) whereas the likes of huddersfield etc don't.
It's a big fish eat small fish analogy. We do the same to smaller sides.
Lacazette is one of Arsene's greatest signings tbh. Just hope we can keep Ozil and get rid of Sanchez (liability all match and season).

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
This all comes back to our problem passing out from the back against a pressing team. The defenders have no easy options so they either play a difficult pass - as Koscielny did on the first goal - or dwell on the ball looking for an option, which is what Mustafi did on the second goal. This happened against Huddersfield but they didn't have the quality to capitalise. United did.
The performance after that would smash most teams, but we were never coming back from two goals down against a big side without some luck going our way.
We should have done what we did against Spurs, and not try to play out at all. It'd result in giving the ball away more, but it would have eliminated the risk of turning it over in our third. Then when the game is settled we can start to play. It's that sort of game management we haven't done consistently.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
Yep. I think the players realised that there was no chance of our front 3 winning anything in the air if they just lumped it forward. They were perhaps afraid to lose the 2nd ball and being counter attacked. but unfortunately none of our defenders are exceptional with the ball so misplaced passes from the back resulted in our downfall. Lukaku may have had a shit game overall but he really rattled all of our defenders.
In the end it all really comes down to Arsene as usual. Signing sub-standard players in defence and midfield. Not addressing the issues. Draw against Chelsea and win against Spurs was good. but those results are anomalies if anything. Last 5 years we have been hilariously bad against our so called rivals. And all of these teams know how to beat us. Same in Europe.
The sooner a new manager starts rebuilding, the better for us.
Finishing 4th this season is more important than any trophy. I doubt we'll win EL either since better teams after quarter finals will do the same to us what United etc do.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
btw Glad Laca is actually fit touch wood
well on course to get 20 league goals at this rate No jinx
but wenger subs were crap resorting to hopeful crosses into the box
still hope Özil somehow signs new deal!
Mesut-Laca-Rambo is great trio
get pacey attacker to replace Alexis and ditch Xhaka for a more mobile MF

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
Taking Xhaka off was a huge mistake. We stopped creating when he went off. Welbeck should have won a penalty so that was okay. Giroud on was a mistake but I guess it was a calculated risk. Personally would have brought on Wilshere and kept Lacazette upfront. Giroud isn't as good winning the ball from defenders as he should be with his height.
Need to get Ramsey to sign a new deal too. Heard pep wants him. Would be impossible for us to keep him if that is true.
Need Fekir to replace Sanchez. Need a TANK in midfield. Or a Cazorla.
------TANK---Ramsey----
--Ozil------------Fekir-----
----------Lacazette--------

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
I'll say this ... crap result obviously, there's frustration, but that was still the most enjoyable 1-3 loss to Mourinho's Man Utd I could envision.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester United
I dont know about enjoyable. This result hurts more than any other loss that I can remember. In the recent years Arsenal losing would not affect me as much, but this loss really hurts, I still can't get over it.
