No. The general idea was that we didnt do the salary talks until the summer, because our payroll cant handle his salary right now. When we offload some players in the summer, we could give him more. The question now is tho: is he using the other offers to give him a early extension, or is he really tempted? idk anymore.

Not much Barcelona can do but bitch in the media. They can, however, give him a new contract with a higher release clause. Barcelona would have to give him that hot cash though to which I have my serious doubts about.

They should though, he is their best CB since Puyol and yes, I do not rate Pique that high and Mascherano is a midfielder.

By the way; its 9 million after tax He wants the same as Iniesta and Suarez. Also, his brother is his agent. Love those family members who are greedy.

Let's not blame just his brother there Coll, pretty sure Umtiti wants it as much as his brother. For Barcelona, they'll have to ask themselves if he is worth that sort of salary and if he isn't, is there a ready made replacement available.

I don't pay a single bill at Barcelona so my opinion isn't worth much but they really should try to keep him. As a Madridista though, would be a joy to see him gone.

For me, he is not worth that kind of (Suarez,Iniesta like) money. If he wants to cash let him go to EPL. Lenglet will come and Mina will do fine imho.

I'm sorry but you don't let a CB go of his caliber. That would be a huge mistake. Umtiti isn't perfect, but not one that should leave. Great centerbacks are difficult to find.

He'd cost about 80m + he's on 200k a weekly salary at United. RM players wouldn't be happy seeing him get that kind of money especially after what they've achieved.

we are becoming cheap I guess.

The logic is that De Gea / Courtois could be had but the transfer fee is going to be high, circa 100 mil and we would have to pay them in the 10 mil net range.

Where signing Alisson from Roma would be in the 50-60 mil range and he would be making 5-6 mil net.

Huge difference in transfer fee and wages, and if Alisson continues to play as he is playing this season he will be in the top 5 GK conversation moving forward which is what you want. We have won a lot with Keylor so we have no pressure to sign another keeper even if that's on the cards. If we don't get the deal we want with Alisson this summer we will continue with Keylor n1 and wait for another opportunity. This is what winning has given us, time not to rush into bad deals.

I dont think Umtiti wants out tbh, it's just his agent trying to negotiate better terms for a renewal, similar to what Ramos did earlier. Currently he earns less than Paulinho, Gomes or Vidal so that's understandable lol
