I have to say I love the idea of Wenger managing a super club. I think he would be an inspiring choice like Carlo was, he can be the grandfather these players wished they had.

I would probably watch every Madrid game too, good publicity for La Liga imo.

He has managed Tottenham, Southhampton and Espanyol, and done great work with the resources given. What you call a gamble was hiring Zidane, this is quite a safe choice imo and there aren't many better alternatives we can get. The fact that he speaks Spanish and has been in La Liga is a big plus.

I have ever a genuine question. What happens if Pochettino decides to resign and leave to Real anyway. I get that he signed a contract and Spurs might not want him to go but managers contract are not alike players right? Because I feel like Spurs have no way of stopping him from leaving at the end of the day

I'm sure managers in this day and age have the same clauses in their contracts as players that mean they can't just up and leave when they feel like it. But surely not even Levy can force an unhappy manager to stay, it's one thing having a player at your club who doesn't want to be there, but a manager? That'd be ridiculous.

I'm not sure what exactly Pochettino has done to attract Madrid's interest, I guess it just highlights the lack of options.

Contract law is contract law irrespective of whether you are a player or a manager

He can quit Spurs and forego his compensation but he would be contractually bound to Tottenham for the duration of his contract, unless they release him from it by mutual consent

It's like a player can retire despite having a contract for 2 more years but they cannot then turn around and sign for another club the next day as to use it as a loophole

Spurs have no way of stopping him from leaving but they have a contract that would effectively stop him from signing for Real, for which I'm sure UEFA would uphold and Poch would be sued into oblivion, maybe even lose his coaching license if he decided to try this route
