lol a bit brutal to say he's hiding as an assistant. he wants to learn, and there are multiple ways to do that, either working with lower levels as a coach - but u need loads of patience for that, or working as an assistant and soaking game from other professionals. it seems he is really passionate about being a coach, which surprises me....doesn't really look the part

First benchmark would be if he can be more successful than Willy Sagnol who had a 39.77% win record at Bordeaux in 88 games

For a reminder, Bordeaux recently (or is still in the process) of being purchased by new US based owners. SO there are quite a bit of changes going on. it's also rumoured they want to hire Klinsmann as a sporting director

That's exactly it, he coached their NT for a long time and obviously his name rings with us football quite a bit but also international football (for them at least)

Honestly from watching him as a pundit I'm more or less certain he'll be a poor coach and not succeed.
I don't think he's got what it takes, at all.

I'm not quite as certain whether you can actually gather all that from watching someone be a pundit, but I'm going to trust my gut

I mean, expectations are likely just don't get relegated from Ligue 1 and aim for mid-table lol

which I'm sure he will manage in that league with a bit of investment and moderate competence

Thierry Henry has now met with Bordeaux’s new owners GACP in New York. Great meeting, Henry happy about the project on offer, but he did not sign on the dotted line, because they’ve offered a long-term contract & he wants more time to think about that aspect. (GF)
