Which two teams will progress ?
Re: Champions League 2018/19 | Group C
Liverpool is night and day when playing away compared to playing at home... not even the same team. PSG is like that as well. So when you consider PSG is playing at home and Liverpool away in that game... it's pretty obvious who should be heavily favored.
Only team that plays in a balanced way regardless of location is Napoli.

They're playing a lot better. And Thiago Silva playing makes a huge defense for them. Kimpembe has been a numpty as a CB both for club and NT. Not to mention the location and the trend in form... Remember Verratti missed the first Liverpool game although Silva was there.
The key players for PSG are Silva, Verratti, Neymar and Mbappe. Take any of those guys out and they are far worse. I'm assuming they all play.

If Napoli beats Red Star then there is only a very unlikely scenario that they would crash out.
Liverpool-PSG, loser is eliminated basically.
Napoli has to play in Liverpool... and I see Liverpool winning that (night and day home compared to away). let's assume a draw to be conservative. 4 points for Napoli.
PSG will very likely win against Liverpool at home and away at Belgrade. But let's assume a draw against Liverpool. 4 points.
Liverpool has to play Napoli at home and PSG away. I think they lose both. But assuming draws = 2 points
To me, Liverpool is likely out.

Meh. You could just as well argue as it suits Klopp to be reactive, and Tuchel surely won't be as much reactive at home as he had his PSG be at Anfield.
I think you're getting ahead of yourself, sports, but we'll see.

Re: Champions League 2018/19 | Group C
Biggest problems for PSG against Liverpool at Anfield were:
- Midfield overrun without Verratti
- Bernat
With Kimpembe moving to the LB spot and Verratti there OR Kehrer (who looks like a stud btw) playing RB to solidify thing defensively... a lot of the defensive issues are solved.
Tuchel has been experimenting like crazy to find balance. Paid a price early in the season. I think he's found some of the formulas. I also think players are getting more in sync with his tactics.

Napoli with Red Star at Naples has a slightly better chance to progress than either PSG or Liverpool. But anything can happen.

Re: Champions League 2018/19 | Group C
Klopp deserves so much blame for this mess.
You don't leave one of your most in-form players at home, just because you're scared he'll get a few boos from opposition fans.
Red Star were imperious tonight. deserved it 100% and I wish them so much luck in their next 2 games, especially the last one in Belgrade vs. PSG

Napoli have dominated PSG in both games but without the desired results. I think they might be the strongest team in this group tbh.

I don't think a 'few boos from opposition fans' was the thinking here, more the safety of traveling fans.

Had said it before the match it wont be easy to get out of this group.
But hadnt imagined that we would lose, I thought the worst would be a draw
But we perform better in such critical situations, our mentality will itself will make us perform better. And I actually think PSG away would suit us better, to play on the counter. It will be just a matter of if we finish those chances that we create.

I didn't watch Pool-PSG. Going by the Napoli games with both, PSG played much better both legs than Pool did. Since the game is in Paris it might be too much. It will be one hell of a game, this is a GOAT group for neutrals.

Cant wait for the PSG match I am sure that even if we lose, we will perform like an elite team and still somehow mess it up but it should be fun.
And I am used to seeing Liverpool suck at games such as the last night !

Re: Champions League 2018/19 | Group C
Thing is, even if we lose to PSG, then we still have one last chance to put it right vs. Napoli.
Even if we lose 10-0 in Paris, we can still qualify beating Napoli by more than one goal in the last game at Anfield.
Decisive games at Anfield, we always usually get the job done under Klopp. Messed up twice with Rodgers vs. Zenit (3-1 win when we needed 4-1) and the 1-1 draw with Basel in 2014.
Anyways, I'm curious if Red Star would show up for the final game vs. PSG, if they get trashed at Naples and effectively eliminated.

You need to beat Napoli by more than 1 goal if Napoli doesn't score. If they scored then you need a bigger margin.
Just a point in Paris for Liverpool qualifies Napoli and then the Anfield game would surely be a lot easier

Napoli played with 10 men for nearly half the match away, against an order of magnitude better team than Liverpool (Juventus), and still managed to score a goal and lost 3-1.

First they need to beat Red Star and see what happens in Paris. At least part of the group will be decided at Anfield in any case.

At least each of Nap/LFC have a big win at home
if PSG don't beat Liverpool at home then they don't deserve to go through, simple as

What a coreo by Crvena Zvedva fans against Liverpool
Unreal torcida
Glad to see them on good levels, everyone could expect sacrifical lamb from them but 4 points at Marakana, 1 from Napoli and 3 from Liverpool. They could even stop PSG now. They know their Destiny (4th Place ) , but they fight for their fans and pride. So they are going to do same against PsG even though eliminated

They are a different team at home, most professional players never played in this atmosphere, they are used to library atmosphere in the PL . Last season they progressed from their Europa League group, but this is CL and the group of death. That's why I said it would be better for them to play in EL, because they can play with teams there and progress, but here it's much tougher especially in this kind of group.
And the main thing is their coach Milojevic, who is a great coach and way better than to coach in the serbian league and he will most likely leave in the future to a better league, he is an expert for those european games where he is the underdog, all successes in EL last season and CL this season are because of him. His team is really compact and defends like a unit, even against much stronger teams

Not to worry, they'll both be miraculously available next week, just not this weekend
