I know we had a big debacle around DAMN. if it was considered classic or not and after giving it some time I gotta say it's Kendrick's best work.

The way it's socially conscious while keeping a great sound is amazing. One of my fav albums as of now.

RG did your opinion change too? DNA is easily the most misunderstood song, it comes off as just a banger but it's more socially conscious than that. The whole album itself is socially conscious which I didn't get in my first impression. GOD is still his worst song ever tho lol

why do you say GOD. is his worst song?

Several reasons actually. It's his least impressive lyrical track. In a album with a religious theme, I think he misused God (god is known for being humble, not for stealing your girls) also it's mostly braggadocious, not conscious like his other tracks are. Lyrically it's really nothing special, it felt like a Lil Wayne track more than anything.

And I like Lil Wayne, but mostly his old work. It isn't half as catchy as HUMBLE. is either too. No radio play etc...

Maybe it's down to how he used God in that song becasue Wow Freestyle which is braggadocious is hella good..Catchy asf

I think just like HUMBLE, GOD is meant to be taken in a tongue-in-cheek way when it comes to his braggadocio rapping. Also the song features a shortened story of his come up to his realisations when he made it (in verse 2) he is saying GOD has worked through him this whole time, perfectly or imperfectly. None of that swagger swagger shit matters at the end when he says 'my heart is rich, my heart is famous"

I get what you're saying, it's not one of his very contemplative, lyrical pieces. It's more of a companion piece that fits in with the tracks around it.

Personally, for me I just listen to it as hype up track every now and then.
