I feel like there's 0 chance Milan honor their agreement for Higuain. 0.

It just doesn't make sense unless he goes on a tear but I don't think he will. Lot of money for an old player with no resell value.

he's Polish, instead of maths and science, they teach them predominantly languages in school, things that will be more helpful for when they leave the country for greener pastures @Unique Proud

Other matches made our shellacking by Atalanta not as bad as it could have been, but still, losing 4-1 to Atalanta means that there is something seriously wrong with the club.

People that wanted Szczesny benched after one bad game, here's your answer.

It's great that he saved Higuain's penalty, yet it doesn't changed what happened before or that Perin also needs playing time.

One bad game, one disaster class. I’m glad Szczesny bounces back because he did have to, because of a shit showing. There’s also nothing wrong with utilizing our depth. We have two really good goalkeepers

Yep. That's also why I said he shouldn't be benched for Milan. It's better for him to be shown confidence and the chance to bounce back like he did. Now it that he was great with the penalty doesn't erase the season so far or the need to give Perin time and a chance, like Szczesny last season.

Allegri wins the panchina d'oro
FI wrote:Max Allegri affirms ‘I hope to stay at Juventus for a long time’ after winning the Panchina d’Oro award for best Italian Coach of 2018.

Allegri beat off competition from Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri and Lazio’s Simone Inzaghi, who finished third and fourth respectively, while he becomes the Coach with the most Panchina d’Oro victories on four.

“Like I always say, the less damage we do the better,” he said upon receiving the accolade at Coverciano.

“I thank my staff, who take so much pressure off me and let me grow older more slowly.

“Credit must also go to the players and club. I hope to stay here for a long time. Now I’m more reflective. My years of experience in Serie A have let me grow.

“The objective is to win our eighth Scudetto and then this blessed Champions League.

“We’ll see if we have a bit of luck on our side. The important thing is to understand how we’ll be in March.

“The level has risen, so we must have the quality to match. For the Scudetto, however, our attentions are on Napoli and Inter.”

Nah he didn't, after a season-long battle it's Max who bring the title home, not Sarri.

Last season was expected to be Napoli's year and they didn't deliver. Came close but choked in the end.

They don't have the squad we do. Sarri's work with Napoli was huge, Max made Juve a machine and getting that close to us with their worse team is huge. We all probably thought we would lose season because of how well he was doing. That game Dybala won us vs Lazio won us the league together with their Fiore game.

If it was this close, then imo it means Sarri deserves it. Being able to call on Dybala, Higuain and Costa to arbitrarily win games we 'normally' should have dropped points in is a clear advantage. Allegri is a GOAT and Sarri got that close to us.

To be honest i've re-read my resume of Max last season (in our section, a thread i created some months ago)... i gave him the mark of B

And i can agree about Sarri deserving it as well. Max wasn't perfect last season and te squad never found a proper identity. Had struggles against tough opponents and kept Khedira far too long etc. That said i do believe he saved our season with smart subs at the perfect moment.

So my bad, i agree more with what i said in may than my previous post, many months after the facts. Still if you ask me to choose one as a coach for my team i obviously choose Max.

Apparently Napoli is pushing for Tonali, confirmed by a very good source

I saw he is called the next Pirlo as well, seems like he is a huge talent, the transfer should be 35m€

Havent watched B since Zeman's Pescara, never seen Tonali play. Huge hype though, 18 yo making waves, getting called up to the NT, linked with every Italian team.

I don't rate him atm, very overhyped.
Very good for Serie B, he is ready for Serie A , but hype is immotivate. He reminds me Sensi situation but even more exasperated ( if you remember, his hype in Cesena days.. born after Verratti effect.. now he is just a good Sassuolo player)
Moreover his comparison with Pirlo doesn't make sense, just the common hairstyle and own country, It is a bad comparison who leads him to shot at random trying to imitate him
He was called up by Mancini but Mancini is calling up also random names,I mean Zaniolo recently, now Grifo (he doesn't play even in Bundesliga. It is because of Goallegacy tax) and Tonali. It doesn't count.

Sensi was pretty obvious that he wouldn't make it at top level. To be such a small midfielder you need crazy technique and his is good but it can't compensate for his size at the highest level. His hype wasn't this high at least.

I'll see if I catch some Brescia games to scout him.

I heard this in the summer but only saw a physical resemblance and a nostalgic linkage because he plays for Brescia.

On face value, I'd say no, next Pirlo is too much hype but him being in Serie B is not enough to discredit him. Verratti, Insigne and Immobile (on the same team, no less) launched successful careers off of Serie B hype and while Insigne and Immobile were already products of bigger teams, Verratti is a self-made player.

However, we've seen quite more frauds come from Serie B so tread carefully brothers. @robespierre, @rincon and I, all suffered at the hands of Gianluca Lapudala
