Sure, change the club's name to Liverpool or Tottenham and we'll be very forgiving of sins and reminisce on titles won.

Nobody out there is a leader or showed heart. Carvajal shouldve stepped up since he has heart but hes been awful lately. This is the time you need a CR7, Ramos, and Marcelo to lead and show fearlessness on the field. Those men would've died on the field (or in Ramos case gotten a red card) before giving up.

Kroos rofl

Solari destroyed this team. He made 2 good decisions in his whole tenure. Will go diwn as the worst appointment since Luxemburg. OUT

80% can join him out the door. Absolutely terrible.

@clutch, there is only so much heart can give you
U still need skill/talent. Kobe had heart in his last year, it didnt save him from shooting all those air balls
.these dudes are past it, it's that simple. I said it at the beginning of the year, it's a charge it to the game season, yet again. The worst is still yet to come, barcelona might win the freaking treble yet again smh

yea theyre past it but seeing kroos not even putting pressure let alone going in for a tackle is disgraceful. I saw that growing up playing in the youth leagues and coaches would rip a new one into you for that. My coach would've literally stopped practice and made us run for the rest of practice if we were just frolicking around the field like that.
Kobe never lost skill, he was like 37 coming off an Achilles tear who was probably still averaging 20ish points a game. Before his Achilles tear he was still performing at an elite level and was putting up some of his best stats.

As someone in Marca wrote, Madrid fans can forgive errors (in time), we can't forgive indifference to the cause and Kroos showed real indifference today (and this season in general). I would not be surprised if he gets the boo treatment before season's end.

There are some players that should not play again this season, Kroos and Bale among them

Exactly our past terrible teams were atleast good at something. This is the worst i have seen. This team can't defend, can't create, can't dominate midfield, can't outscore .... This team is just there. Need major overhauling.

I really hope this loss doesn't get blamed on Isco and Bale as they are the usual scapegoats in this forum.

Isco hasn't even played so it would be really hard to scapegoat him.

Bale on the other hand- yes apparently he has been trash, but so has almost the entire team. Might need to reignite the thread I made asking "who is salvageable."

I’ll bite Deez.

Coach - definitely has to go.

Front Line - only Vinicius to remain. Out for sure - Bale, Mariano. Possibly could stay but only in backup role - Benz, Lucas, Asensio. All of these depend on who comes in.

Midfield - out Modric and Kroos. Remaining Ceballos, Valverde, Llorente and Casemiro. Not sure what to think re Isco, but probably he will be gone as well.

Defense- I expect little change, except Vallejo and Marcelo likely gone.

Goal - Courtois remains and Navas if he chooses to remain.

That basically means wholesale change of starters, but most backups remain.

to get rid of that many players and replace them with the quality to challange for the title and UCL would cost over 500mil can you really see the club spending that kind on money.

Some have, esp DoC.

I think the needs re new players are
Two forwards
One or two midfielders
One LB
One CB

Most of the bench have shown enough to remain and they should be able to challenge the starters and three of them (Reguilon, Ceballos and Llorente) may actually challenge for the starter spot.

But biggest challenge isn’t budget, nor desire to spend nor acquiring top players, it’s getting the proper coach!

And I might add, one would be a fool to think this horrific situation can be turned around in just one summer!

But back to Deez request, it said who is salvageable (of current squad)!

it can't all be done over one transfer window, that's why a proper coach who can provide input is needed. some areas of concern are more pressing than others, but it isn't a one summer thing. and in all honesty it shouldn't have even gotten to this point to begin with. we shouldn't have waited for barcelona ajax and a couple of other teams to pour all this on us before we smelt the coffee

Gonna have to, I think. Unless new life is brought into the squad I don't see this squad competing for any trophy next season, and realistically not the following season either. We need to make the right hire, stick with the manager, invest in targets the manager needs to play the way he wants and be patient.

I didn't want to sack Lopetegui, and we certainly shouldn't sack an Allegri or Poch if it comes to that.

@unique , it depends. time to rebuild should not equate to going trophyless or wetting the bed. just means pressing matters should be addressed first and slowly other areas can be dissected. first we need a manager, then some issues in attack must be addressed. and then the coach may have ideas on some other players they would like to have that may not be super star level but can help with depth

for those kind of players the winter window we so dread may be useful. as i said we don't have to spend a boat load; with a sensible manager , we can start taking advantage of the winter window. not for long term signings but things like loans to improve depth. its high time we start making use of that whilst we shore up other areas.

we all say sell all these guys and all, but we know you're not selling 10 players in your squad with nobody to replace them. should be a systematical process. bale benzema isco (i know he's a fan favorite on here) have to go NOW though, no two ways about that. the others we can address slowly

btw that's just my suggestion, i'm not saying its the best or only approach to take but just something we can ponder and debate on. at madrid , a lot of times we frown at the thought of the winter window, but imo we can take advantage of it with knowledgeable managers or sporting directors, we obviously won't get the cream of the crop, but those areas that are not say long term concerns, we can have some depth there, and use that to juggle personnel between all 3 comps....for the record, i hated losing the ucl but i'm sure glad we don't have the damn cwc to think of next season
