They'll try, i don't buy this team will be extra motivated or less motivated stuff.

Issue is they'll likely flat out not good enough to win regardless.

Bailly and Otamendi were very much rated particularly Otamendi. He really looked the part and one of the few CBs I've seen that actually marked Messi proper (i.e no need for dirtiness like Ramos does constantly).

Mustafi, however, I cannot recall him doing anything of any note. Apparently he got a 7.30 on whoscored that season. Guessing that's what Arsenal saw tbh.

That was a year Jordi Alba and Krychowiak were in the same team despite being thoroughly average. Solid response to my post but La Liga awards are always basing these things on lazy statistics and in attack as blows my mind how Otamendi even got in there.

@Doc: Mustafi had his moments but he is just a total brainlet in terms of defending or more so concentration and really do not know how he was called up to the World Cup squad despite being average with Sampdoria.

Noticed that Sigurdsson has been quietly having a good season, his 13 PL goals is his record. I guess he's justifying that price tag that Everton paid for him.

No matter whether they try or not, I just can't see Utd getting anything from the match vs City.
They play exactly the kind of football that stands no chance whatsoever against a Pep team. Easy, clear City win.

Yeah all the talk of United letting City win seems ridiculous. They'll try to beat City and most likely will fail hard.

I think United is going to play serious too (and I think they can get points, because these matches are not predictable)
Solskjaer must show to deserve his job , he has lost matches recently yet CL place is still there and if they get points tomorrow and next at home against Chelsea It Is CL imo
If he gets 4th place trophy (after the bad conditions he's begun) would be an enormous job made by him IMO
He knows very well the rivalry against Liverpool because he was United player , and even in a periodi where City were never relevant, but he must think to his job and to United firstly. He has not time to think about other. Getting 4th Place after tough comeback would be a very good beginning of career for him under United.

I'm honestly surprised by how many Newcastle fans are in favour of Liverpool in that vote.

Most of us hate Liverpool Laughing i suspect the idea of City being run by Blood Money has overcome that hatred for Liverpool.

Yes, as far as the team goes.
However, as for the fans, I think you cannot underestimate how much Utd fans hate the possibility of Liverpool winning the league.
Liverpool never having won the PL is basically the last big thing they have over Liverpool right now, and I think many might, irrationally of course as RG writes, want to hold on to that by all means.
They have become very, very bitter, if RedCafe is anything to go by.

They don't. I think it's not completely irrelevant for team performance in atmospheric terms though.

But anyway, as I said, as far as football goes IMO Utd is nowhere near capable to trouble or beat City

Would it be possible for Man U to fire Soskajear if he continues to lose and finishes 6th or whatever? Would be embarrassing but if it turns out he might not be all that. Otherwise, Man U would be stuck with him until next season starts and it gets even worse... of course I wouldnt mind that at all Very Happy

Premier League orthodoxy says that any manager, no matter how underwhelming or unproven, must be backed in the transfer market by spending money and signing players, and be 'given  a couple of transfer windows' to 'build his own team'.
Such is the overstatement of the individual aspects of a team's quality, and the understatement of collective work, as laid out in Margaret Thatcher's famous dictum of "there is no such thing as society".

So no, Utd can't fire Ole before they have done all that backing and spending.

one would expect city to roll them over but i think city will be nervous and man u will be angry so its possible man u can get a draw and thats all liverpool need to have the title race in there own hands. thats assuming liverpool win all 3 games and in the EPL you can assume nothing.

Always liked the Irishman and could have scored many more goals if he was not used for his defensive work and occasionally on the flanks.

Huge privilege to have that record.
