Yep. Sent off. Bamba has to be stretchered off

Aouar sends the pen against the post

France can't convert the second penalty in this game, still 1:0 England

Interestingly enough, France's U21 is a bit shit.

Not nearly the fireworks of talent one would have expected with the recent years in mind

There seem to be a couple of weaker years coming

MEanwhile, seemingly 75% of Englands U21 are Chelsea players loaned out to the Championship

England throwing away a lead a tournament again? I should expect it by now but I still end up disappointed.

Foden was great, but the forwards had abysmal end product, especially Gray. Could have had a bigger lead before Choudury's stupidity.

You know, Ceballos really needs a club that'll start him. On the flip side, Mayoral actually has a club that starts him and he fking sucks.

Real Madrid should probably have rather paid 60m for Luca Waldschmidt than for Luka Jovic :coffee:

England crashing out the u21 Euros in the group stages again. 1-0 down to Romania with 15 mins to go.

Don't know why I bother anymore tbh.

Every time England get themselves back in it, they commit an error and lose it again.

England in a nuthsell tbh. Finally have the talent in their ranks at all levels but still lack the mentality to perform when it matters.

Watched this at work and I really wonder why England can be so mistake prone at always the most ridiculous time of a match. These aren't shit players at all too, some decent blokes on show.

Damn. Thanks for posting, I almost missed this game.

U21 Euros are very interesting, last German win of the tournament was very surprising, and impressive.
I remember how much I liked Pellegrini then.

Much more interesting than the Women's WC to me, personally.

Well , I'd prefer to watch curling than Women's WC tbh Laughing
Anyway Italy got knocked out yesterday even tough 2 victories and 1 loss, this regulation doesn't make sense and it should be reviewed...
Having said that, Italy U21 is out after they've called their best eligible players (except for Donnarumma), Germany Spain and France 've reached semi-finals after they've left at home players that'd be starters in Italy " A" . Embarassing gap.

Meh. We beat smashed the Spain that qualified, don't see an "embarassing gap", and Spain did call seniors. The Poland game was a fluke, all the ball, shots and chances and losing from a ricochet. It happens. Luckily Di Biagio resigned after mishandling so many teams.

Seeing Old man Bill's many grandchildren roughed up Sports' nephews with considerable "ease". Only saw the 2nd half but Fornlas and Ruiz really bossed the midfield, Ceballos actually had a quiet game for once in this tournament.

Another rematch with the Germans it seems.

Our best players who are under 22 don't play for the team... most notable of which is Mbappe. You had to be U21 before the start of Euro qualifying to make it... so Ousmane Dembele, Kinsley Coman and Ndombele as well.

I guarantee you that with Dembele, Mbappe, Coman and Ndombele.... we would have absolutely crushed the field.

They'll all play in the olympics though imo.

Question is why aren't Dembele, Mbappe and Ndombele playing? They're all eligible to play

Also having is not a guarantee that they'll perform better than these lot, you should know that more than anyone

Ceballos and Ruiz were delightful. Germany had their chances but Spain should have belted them off the park. A much better showing from them after Germany beat them 2 years ago.

Well done old man Bill, you're gonna have to live with the Frenchified version of Madrid but the "kids" are alright it seems.

Thought Mayoral played really well when he came on too. I can see why he is compared to Benz so much. He prefers to make a pass than shoot and prefers to be anywhere but the box

Hala, key part of what you said is in bold above. He has been playing as 3rd option behind two guys who are not natural CF. He has fallen steadily on this team for 3 years. Used to be without doubt the first option. IMO, he had his best years with RMC, was proclaimed as can’t miss! He will never rise to level of others before him such as Morata and we all know how well he turned out!
