Yeah, not that impressive leap on performance. Although perf/price doubles. I would probably need new PSU too, as my 550W Truepower is about 8 years old and out of warranty.

Looks like 16GB 16GBs Samsung memory, much better than any Nvidia offering bar RTX 3090 for the next gen.

256bit bus though, sounds like mid tier offering in 6000-series. I'm fairly sure they'll offer HBM2 in the highest model.

Could be right. But there's awful lot of fake sources sending fake stuff ahead, pretending to be some corporate employee, I'm fairly sure even the corporations do this themselves. 6 weeks to go until we really know.

If Big Navi is going to be produced the optimized 7nm+ process it will have almost 2x transistor density, and it could overtake Nvidia. Already decided to skip 3080, at least until AMD has their say.

There is a reddit user, out of frustration he went out of his way and wrote a scipt which bid for ebay offers upwards of 25000$ with no chance for the seller to sell their item because no one would buy for that price. PS5 handled its preorders just as badly if you look at the PS5 thread over here. Let's see how Microsoft is going to handle its preorders. I heard, they'll introduce a 2 per person limit and a visual captcha just before the pressing the confirmation button to avoid all of that mess.

I think this is yet another clue that Nvidia is afraid of Big Navi, and was forced to release before they had reasonable stock of gpus, and get good publicity going.

I'm not in a hurry to buy anything. I got rid of my GTX 1080 Ti for 490€ on ebay before Ampere launched, sold my PS4 controllers, too.
I'll get a pair of the dual sense controllers and a new video card after everything is launched and is available.

Yeah that's predictable as 3090 has only 20% more cores and memory bandwidth to 3080 at same clocks. Stupid release. Nvidia is probably betting AMD not reaching 3090 performance, so they could milk anything. But as AMD promises 50% perf/watt increase, doubling CU's from 40 5700XT to Big Navi 80 would give 3080 performance at about 300W. 3090 is 350W so I think AMD can rise the clocks enough to reach 3090 at 350W. All this still means probably new PSU for me.

Apparently, one could limit RTX 3080's power target to 270W nd it'd be just 5% slower I don't know why Nvidia squeezed everything beyound the sweet spot just to get 5% more performance (50W). Whatever, I'sold everything, just wainting for november. If BigNavi flops I could get a readily available RTX 3080 (20GB version was announced). I don't care whether it'll cost 1000€ with the 20GB, just wanna have my peace for the next 4 years.

Igor, a reviewer and electrical engineer from Germany tested the GDDR6x temperatures of the RTX 3080 with a temperature camera and found some of them to be 107 degee Celcius hot! The max specification by Micron ist 105 degrees
