Such an exciting final. Love both teams equally. This is like El Clasico for me.

Incredible that it is the first time in 21 years that an Italian team made the UEFA Cup/Europa League final. That Parma team which won had Crespo, Thuram, Cannavaro, Buffon, Chiesa senior. Since then Italian teams have made the CL final seven times.

who was that serie A clown who used to say that serie A teams don't take it seriously because they need to focus on finishing 10th instead

Was not too surprising to see Inter go through Shakhtar despite the Ukrainians being quite a dangerous side but here it where it ends for Conte I predict (and hope).

Why? Pedigree is an abstract concept of sorts but Sevilla retain that given it was not too long ago they swept Europe thrice in a row so should be more confident going into the final than Inter.


They aren't that brilliant team that won so often but I can somehow see Conte taking a very pragmatic approach followed by a somewhat now dull Sevilla nicking a goal and putting them out of their sorts. I don't expect an entertaining one but do expect it to please me and see Inter losing in the final.

If Inter sit deep with a back five, I see Sevilla struggling to score. They'll leave their two centre backs against Lukaku and Lautaro, which is just asking for trouble.

On the other hand, Sevilla use the wide spaces a lot better than Shakhtar. Shakhtar had nothing down the flanks and kept going inside where all the congestion was. Sevilla will push Reguilon and Navas up to overload the wingbacks. Banega will play close to the left touchline to stretch the midfield three.

I see it as another 50/50 game. Sevilla have the EL blessing going for them, but Inter have plenty of grit and experience themselves.

I fear very much Banega, he is a legend of this cup ...
and then he is an ex of this match.

He has played just a season at Inter, then he 's been back at Sevilla.
He's been incosistent but in a negative year for Inter (   I wonder what he could do in better Inter )  but anyway he's showed flashes of class even here

Easy win for Inter. They have a far better squad and a coach who knows how to win titles.

Sevilla will have a lot of possession but it will be Inter who will be scoring the goals.

I put that more down to luck than anything else tbh

What came first, the European final  or the misery?
People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids watching to thousands, literally thousands of football matches about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I follow  football because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I follow football ?
