Squad needs a huge overhaul. Only 3-4 players should be starting.

He'll be sacked in favor of a more reputable manager who's won something in his career, prbably from a rival (Tuchel)

The 2nd manager will have dressing room conflicts about his playing style which will result in him getting sacked midway

He'll be replace by a former Yanited player who 'knows what it means' to play for Yanited, he'll probably fool fans by winning on his debut against a better team.

And so the cycle keeps on going

You know it’s kind of hard to call if he’ll succeed or not.

On one hand, he knows what is required from a big team on a tactical level. Klopp said it best. You need coaches who understand that you have to attack in a defensive shape, and defend in an attacking shape.

United have sucked against small teams for ages because they have no clue how to break them down. Ten Hag is probably their best appointment for that case. However, if he’s a hipster that tactical naivety can come back to bite them. At least his tactics aren’t outdated like De Boer or Rangnick, but PL is a different ball game.
The intensity is very high and there’s an emphasis on winning second balls. The matches against the top 4 involve the best tacticians in the world. It’s going to be a very difficult jump.

And that’s just from a strategic aspect. Imagine the drama of dealing with superstars. Ajax was obviously the big fish in Netherlands, but the pressure of coaching there isn’t comparable to the underperforming entitled bunch at United.

I can’t see United usurping Liverpool or City any time soon. Their best bet is to undergo a 3 year project with him. Make signings based on the system he wants to implement. No more nostalgia signings or signing players to gain t-shirt sales.

If the team isn’t flopping miserably let him stay and see it through. He’ll learn from his mistakes along the way and hopefully by the end of those 3 years they’ll be in a position to challenge for titles not just CL places.

Seriously tho, the biggest plus of being in absolute shambles by the time this season ends, that is getting battered in the remaining games and finishing like 8th will be

1. Ten Hag will have power at the board level and hopefully can force changes in terms of player recruitment, sales and contract renewals, all areas where we have been appalling for like 10 years now
2. He can sell a lot of underperforming lazy fucks we have in the squad and the board and ex players wont meddle in his decisions.
3. Fan expectation will be the at the lowest and the self entitled United fans will be patient somewhat

So, ya all in all excited. Most excited since Van Gaal's appointment perhaps lol. But not expecting miracles at all. This is like a suicide mission, this job, toxic players, toxic fanbase, incompetent owners, media. One thing though, the guy has got balls accepting the job at this point. His reputation was on the rise. He could have waited for Man City or any of the big Spanish clubs or even Bayern. Yet he chose us. Hope he wont come to regret the decision.

He will only and only succeed if he has a say on all club matters. But look at how sly United are being calling him a 'head coach' That's equivalent to assistant to the regional manager.

If the higher ups keep buying expensive trash without any regard to what the team actually needs then it's just going to be another cycle of highs and lows. If they let 10 hag have full control of the overhaul then they might have a chance.

united need to improve in a number of key areas, for example playing football. There might be 1-2 players who are good enough. Rest are all replaceable.

He's not a fraud, he's a great coach. Now if that means he'll succeed at United is a different story.. I wish him all the best but I wouldn't be surprised to see him not getting the time he needs.

ManU really need to start acting like a normal club trying to aspire more than what their current level is. The whole mentality is shit, sitting on a high horse and saying we are a big club so we deserve this and that. Until this mentality changes among the fans and club people, I doubt any coach will get enough time and freedom to do what they want.

It will be a challenge to handle Ronaldo in the squad for him. Ten Hag needs find balance with Ronaldo in starting XI and needs to make it work.

In general this appointment will be interesting for EPL. Next season will be even more exciting with Klopp, Pep, Tuchel, Conte, Arteta and Tan Hag also in the mix. WATTBA

Yeah by fraud I meant good at smaller teams in the underdog territory, we've seen time and time again how it's a huge step from there to bigger clubs with enormous egos to keep control of especially if you're held back by the board as it happens at Utd

It's one thing to get a young, promising squad and have no expectations and do a deep CL run with it, another thing to spend 300m on transfers and be pressured to win it all.
