Just wanna see if people will be against it or pro

Yeah, don't want to be a spoilsport, but I agree with this.

I always have to shield my laptop when Im on the forums in a public place.

Yes, if I want to look at porn, I know where to find it, I don't need someone elses sig to do this.

No-one has porn as their sigs, it's just women with big behinds and women in bikinis. No worse than what you see on billboards and in newspapers

It's soft-porn. And the reason I'm against it is not that I find these things offensive, but it's more so people won't look at me as a pervert when I'm in the site in public.

Im saying yes only because most nsfw are gifs which makes everything go slow it's annoying...

How can it turn to a shariah when all RealGunner is doing is asking the members to respect Islam by just not using NSFW for a month? It's not like they are forcing, it's called respect religion and the members who believe in it

I don't want to start a heated religion-based debate here, but the Internet is a very, very open... thing.
I think it's going too far to ask / expect people to moderate their own, commonly accepted standards for a religion's reasons. But that's just me, no disrespect, peace

we are not forcing anyone, anyone can put whatever they like, its none of our buisness. We just asked them if they can avoid it for a month, it would be a good thing for others and an act which will be respected

We're not making a demand. We've received a PM asking us to make this request and we've honoured it. People are welcome to adhere to the request or ignore as they feel they should. We will not be altering our enforcement of the rules for the month or forcing anyone to do anything that is not already in place with the rules. This is purely voluntary and whether one follows said request will have no bearing on how they are viewed or treated in the present and future.

What about a request for people to stop using NSFW sigs altogether?

Can that be made into a global announcement?

The official stance right now is:

I still disagree, I think that any community needs rules and expecting people to behave within the limits of decency should be one of them if the overwhelming majority of the community feels this way. It's not too different than having a curse word filter.

Anyways I appreciate RG & the rest of the admins taking the time to explain their point of views, and can sympathize with their view.

So what now? I think the best method would be to lobby directly to Forumotion to get them to add the 'disable sigs' feature for each individual user, so each user can decide whether to show them or not and no one's right of expression will be taken away from them.

Come on. We are here to discuss football. Not stare at half naked women in each thread. Not to mention the number of posters who are under 18.

If you are going to allow people to use NSFW sigs, there should be an age restriction for the forum.

I don't work. The NSFW sigs alter where I access the forums from though. Can't sit in my family room with adults and younger cousins around and access the forums for fear that my relatives will think I'm some creep watching porn while I'm sitting there with all of them. As previously discussed, all signatures that have been allowed contain no content that would not be shown in commercials on US public television. If it's clean enough to show to the entire US nation in advertisements then it's clean enough for an internet forum. Noone has hardcore pornography, nudity, violence, or offensive messages that break forum rules in their signature (that I know of), therefore the rules in place are not currently being infringed upon.

So I could hypothetically have a signature gif of two men making out? Nice!
