PSG increase their offer to 40M for Ganso

I wouldn't be surprised if it hit the 50M release clause if this doesn't work. Remains to be seen if Ganso wants to join PSG.

Why would he join PSG?

Not certain Milan can afford to pay the release clause even in January. Leonardo runs PSG, which is always a plus for any Brazilian player... and you know PSG is going to spend plenty over the next several years to become a football power.

They would pretty much have to build around him, but if done correctly it would take very intelligent transfers. But with their new wealth its interesting to think about a new French power in todays scene.

How will this tally with FFP? I cant see PSG generating revenue to match this sort of spending.

They're not in CL next year... so they really don't care until the year after.

Doesnt matter really though.If they spend 60mil on Ganso including wages it will be spread through the entire length of that contract not just this year for FFP.So it will affect them whichever season they qualify for CL.Whether its next season or 3 seasons after the transfers made this season will affect their FFP requirements.

Everyone talks about financial fair play. But does anyone know what are the requirements of financial fair play? Will they ever be implemented?

Doubt it.

Financial fair play is already implemented and will impact clubs entering European competitions from 2013.The only question is will UEFA be vigilant enough to stop clubs finding loopholes in the fair play rules.

Either way it wont affect any big club with substantial income including Chelsea or Madrid unlike the common perception.Only thing it stops is having suger daddy owners.Thats why i am curious hwo much income PSG generate and whether they can meet FFP regulations if they spend like City.

It comes down to popularity, merchandising and CL. PSG will likely lose quite a bit in 2011 while banking on getting a big lift if they are successful and get star names to the club.

PSG was always a grossly mismanaged club, but a very popular one. Looks like this might change. A lot of untapped potential there... they have a huge fanbase.

there is something called respect for the club in Brazil.

PSG was a decent CL club back in the day. I'd like to see them big again.

Santos midfielder Ganso has revealed he only wants to play for AC Milan once his current club eventually decide what to do with him.

The 21-year-old Brazil international has been strongly tipped to join Milan who are yet to make a formal offer.

On Wednesday Santos director of football Pedro Luiz Conceicao stated Ganso will stay in Vila Belmiro until at least the end of 2011, in order to compete in the Club World Cup.

Reports in France claim the playmaker has caught the eye of Paris Saint-Germain who are reportedly willing to spend up to €45 million for him following Leonardo's appointment as director.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals Ganso has already told Milan defender Thiago Silva of his ambition to join him at San Siro.

"I only want Milan and I am ready to wait," Ganso told Silva, as reported by the Italian newspaper.

Earlier, Milan chief Adriano Galliani said the club has identified their much sought after 'Mister X' player whose identity, for now, remains undisclosed publicly.

Milan have also been linked with Fiorentina's Riccardo Montolivo, and Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik.
