How's your clubs future shaping up? Empty How's your clubs future shaping up?

Post by Kick Mon Aug 08, 2011 12:40 am

After we bought Lukaku I started thinking about what other clubs are donig to secure their future with FFP.

I think a lot of people still believe Chelsea is going to fail FFP but I believe otherwise. Without including the money we spend in Jan of this year we pulled a profit from the year (I know we have to include it but we will not be spending that kind of money again any time soon) Which means we will do fine come FFP. the other thing we have done is secure some of the best young talent around the world and when put together makes a very classy squad.

------------Courtois
Clifford-Luiz-Bruma-Van Aanholt
-------McEachran-Romeu
-------------Piazon
sturridge-Lukaku-Kakuta

Then add the likes of Wallace, Kalas, Bertrand, Ramires, Mikel and it's a very good squad should they all reach their potential.

If all of our players reach their potential we will only have to buy a winger and a CM over the next 4-5 years or so.

So what is your club doing to secure their future?

GK: De Gea (20)
RB: Rafael (21)
CB: Jones (19) / Evans (23)
CB: Smalling (21)
LB: Fabio (21)
RM: Nani (24)
CM: Cleverley (21)
CM: Anderson (23)
LM: ?
ST: Hernandez (23) / Welbeck (20)
ST: Rooney (25) / Macheda (19)

All 25 or under.

The only position we don't have who is 25 or under is LM but Young is only 26 so. We're looking pretty good. We also have Pogba, Morrison, De Laet, King, Petrucci, etc

I didn't put Diouf because I think he'll leave soon.

But it secures their future for the next 4-5 years.

Plus they have youths coming through.

I don't know where he will play honestly. He hasn't played LB yet, only playing in the midfield.. And he is flopping there. I think he will be used for rotation/backup.

For a left back, midfielder and a winger. Plus he has a high workrate. For backup purposes he is pretty good, covers almost every position.

You know you could always pull a man city and get yourself a lucrative sponsorship deal if that happens. :coffee:

I'm hoping FFP works but I think there are many holes which teams can exploit to their advantage.

Kalas and Bruma are two different types of players like Terry (Bruma) and Luiz (Kalas). The best possible replacement for Terry is Bruma. Hoping he gets game time at Hamburg to prove himself as many do not rate him. And who's the Drake bloke?

While I share your enthusiasm about some of your younger guys (Smalling especially for me) I wouldn't look too deeply into the City game. A season goes up and down and there might be more downs than ups.

Having said that I'd tip Yanited for the league this year (again) Razz)
