Re: How's your clubs future shaping up?
While I share your enthusiasm about some of your younger guys (Smalling especially for me) I wouldn't look too deeply into the City game. A season goes up and down and there might be more downs than ups.
Having said that I'd tip Yanited for the league this year (again) )

Reina
Flannagan-----Kelly-----Wisdom-----Robinson
Lucas-----Coady
Henderson
Sterling-----Carroll-----Suarez
Subs: Shelvy , Morgan , Suso , Pacheco , Spearing , Wilson , Gulaski
Will probably look like this if everyone makes through the academy which is eternal optimism. Its bit pointless listing future teams based on youngsters at the club.It will be lucky 2-3 make through the academy.Anything more will be a golden generation like United of 90's and they had only 5 coming through IIRC.

Re: How's your clubs future shaping up?
Good / promising young players are only half of the story, not everyone of them will end up being great quality. A club's finances are the other half.
I think Liverpool will be fine if we can get our annual revenue to reach £200m (currently about £180m) and keep it there. It will still be short of United's current £280m annual revenue, but close to Arsenal's and Chelsea's (£225m and £205m). Anyway it's not a realistic target to match United's revenue any time soon.
But we are clearly investing in young players now so our strategy seems right.

The players have to be 25 and under right?

----Motta------------Chiellini-----------------Camilleri/Bonucci/Sorensen--------De Ceglie--
----Di Silvestro-------------Marchisio--------------Vidal--------------------Pasquato--

A lot of the players I mentioned are 18-22 (Pasquato, Boniperti, Libertazzi, Camilleri, Di Silvestro, Sorensen, De Ceglie), but it'll be a great team in the future.
And I do think Motta will improve .

Re: How's your clubs future shaping up?
Im unsure what to make of our current situation.
Although we have brought in allot of new players during the summer, we have also let allot leave. I loved Malbranque and would have preferred to have kept him, but selling him made sense considering he was out highest earner. And his game is in decline.
We have addressed some issues like our defence, although that could be a gamble depending how injury prone Oshea and Brown are. We could be in the same position we were last season.
We have brought in 2 strikers in Dong & Wickham, but im not sure either will be able to fill Bents boots. We could still do with a forward that has experience in the league, such as Bellamy. Especially considering we will loose Gyan during the Acon. And should he get injured we will be left with no experienced strikers.
Our owner and Chairman are amazing, couldn't ask for better. Financially with Shorts backing we are in a good position. He doesn't mind spending cash on players as well as clearing any debt we incur.
Investment in our academy is starting to pay off. In recent years we have brought on players like Leadbitter, Henderson, Meyler, Colback which have broke into the first team. Then sold on for decent money in Hendersons & Leadbitters case, the same with Waghorn.
This season we will have Knott & Noble breaking into the first team as well as a couple of others. We took a kid from Arsenals youth system called Deacon who seems to have potential.
I have a quite positive outlook for our future, but also a little scepticism. Until our injury crisis last season we did really well. Hopefully we can do better this season, on paper I think we have better players than last season. But it will all depend on how well they gel together.
When Quinn took over he had a 5 year or so plan, we have gradually improved on each of those seasons and hopefully we can continue to do so.

Re: How's your clubs future shaping up?
Provided we remain consistent in our league placing, we could have the majority of our debt paid off in the next decade, possibly even before then. In 2014, our sponsership deals with Fly Emirates and Nike expire and we'll be getting much better commerical deals. So in the next ten years or so, we should be generating a lot more cash than we do now.
There may be the posibillity of the club's business strategy changing in this time, but if FFP is happening then we'll only be able to spend what we earn so it wouldn't make much difference. If FFP is scrapped in the end, I'm pretty sure we'll continue our self-sustaining model but it's possible for us to become more willing to spend a bit in the transfer market.
This is all quite uncertain, though.
Player wise, we've got a few good talents about.
Then there's also:
Damian Martinez (Goalkeeper, Argentine)
Francis Coquelin (Defensive Midfield, French)
Josh Rees (Centre Midfield, English)
Henri Lansbury (Centre Midfield, English)
Kristoff Olsson (Centre Midfiled, Swedish)
Jon Toral Harper (Centre Midfield, Spanish/English)
Kyle Ebecillo (Centre Midfield, Dutch)
Alban Bunjaku (Attacking Midfiled, English/Albanian)
Serge Gnarby (Winger, German)
Hector Bellerín (Winger, Spanish)
Benik Afobe (Striker, English)
Chuba Akpom (Striker, English)
Plus the posibillity of in the near future:
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Attacking Midfiled/Winger, English)
Joel Campbell (Striker, Costa Rican)
Half these kids probably won't make it, but there probably the best of our youth at the moment.

I can. Wenger has always said Walcott's future is as a striker and he does have the attributes to play as a striker. I'm not too sure about a lone striking role, but his future is definitely up front.
As an alternative, Wellington Silva is also a striker so we could play Walcott on the right still and have Afobe and Wellington competing for that striking role. Afobe would be better suited to it, I think.
Incidentally, the Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain deal seems to be becoming more likely by the hour... I don't want him.

Sky Sports are reporting Oxlade-Chamberlain is having a medical.

Re: How's your clubs future shaping up?
Young Guns - probably one of the most reliable people when it comes to news about young players - has just said the medical is happening, he may wear number 33 and the deal could be done by the end of today. Personal terms supposedly agreed earlier in the summer.
And the fee? £7,000,000 with £5,000,000 add-ons.
This is why I don't want him.

It'd be a good line-up for a team that plays with the ball on the ground but it is a bit lacking in height and power. There're only four players in that prospective line-up over 6 foot tall; Szczesny, Bartley, Miquel and Jenkinson.
We've not got many defensive talents either, at the moment, so that's something we'll definitely have to work on.

Re: How's your clubs future shaping up?
Unlike chelsea, we are stacked with defenders, we need wingers.
We have: Clifford, Kane and Wallace for RB, Kalas, Bruma, Luiz, Rajkovic and Chalobah for CB and Van Aanholt, Bertrand and Gordon for LB. Loads.
