Hmm, In fact he was, SKY named his Juventus player of the Year. So I guess that justifies it.

In my eyes he wasnt..He performed above expectations in big games against the milan and rome games..
But was completely caught off-guard against mid-table and relegation teams..All in All he was very inconsistent imo..
Krasic had a decent debut season and once again chiellini showed why he is juventus' best player..

Re: Thoughts on Brazil
Grafite had one incredible season, but plenty of good ones. And his record for brazil is great. Hes had 4 callups, but only actually played in 1 game, and scored 1 goal.
Melo wasnt juves best player last season, but he was certainly one of the best. Hes a perfect destroyer for a 2 man midfield.
And Maikon Leite is extremely talented, and I believe in a year or sohell be up there with neymar and ganso. He needs to be given a chance and I would bet he would excell. Hed beperfect for Brazil. Right now, maybe put Ganso in the starting lineup with Leite on thr bench, but whem Leite matures more I think hell be starting.

Re: Thoughts on Brazil
The problem with Brasil is Dani Alves and Andre Santos. They always want to do too much and leave holes in the defense, I hate both of them. Lucio and Thiago are as good as it gets but Lucio wont play in the Next WC, so David Luiz needs to start or maybe even Dede. Ramires runs alot but once he gets to the final third he doesnt know how to give that final ball. Lucas leiva will be a starter he has played well. Pato isnt a number 9, I like him alot but i think he should be an impact sub. Hulk and Hernanes definitely deserve to be on the team. Our number 9 i think will be Adriano. If he gets back to form like he was with Flamengo,I'm sure Mano will call him up. He's the number 9 we need to play with Neymar and Robinho on the wings. This is my starting 11 for the 2014 world cup
------------Julio Cesar-------------
Dani Alves/Rafael-----Dede/David Luiz----Thiago Silva-----Marcelo/Cortes
-------Lucas Leiva--Hernanes/Luiz Gustavo------
------------------Ganso---------------
Robinho/Hulk-------------------------Neymar
------------------Adriano/L.Damiao------------

Re: Thoughts on Brazil
people laugh at me when i say adriano, but an in form adriano is a top 5 striker in the world, and i want to see him in the world cup. That guy was just frakking ridiculous.I hope he gets fit like dinho.
for now id like
------------------JC----------------
Maicon/rafael---Luiz---Thiago Silva---L. Gustavo(beast)/fabio
------------Leiva---Hernanes-------
Robinho-------Ganso----------Neymar
-----------------Damiao------------------

Re: Thoughts on Brazil
Adriano will be back! Mark my words! Luiz Gustavo is better in midfield, he has good technique and passing something Ramires doesnt. I think Cortes from botafogo will be one of our best left backs in the near future. He's a beast on defense and offense. I like your lineup Ganso, I think Marcelo will be called up against Egypt and most likely start.

nah, marcelo will never get the callup under mano.menezes REALLY doesn't like him.I think that Luis Gustavo and Fabio can do a better job than him anyway tbh.

I could care less about Marcelo, hes stupid for what he did to Brasil. Bruno Cortes is the left back we need. I love his style of play.

Re: Thoughts on Brazil
Bruno Cortes has been talked as the starting LB for Copa Rocca..but Borges form cannot be ignored 9 games 9-10 goals iirc.
He deserves to be Brazil's starter... straight up goal scorer. CyBorges progamado ai fazer goles

That was never a problem when they had Roberto Carlos and Cafu, both of whom go forward as much as Alves and both way more then Andre Santos?
Maybe If Brazil kept better possession like they used to, they could be effective.
You have to go forward alot from fullback for Brazil they dont have wingers and havent had for a long tiem.

Brazil has the perfect players for a 4222 at the moment, but no coach to put it in motion.

Which is VERY surprising given its common use in Brazils history.
Though tbh, Dunga Brazil on paper wasnt 4222 but on the pitch it became it.
Even Manos at times looks it, its because they dont have wing players.

Re: Thoughts on Brazil
yh, at some points you see only robinho, pato, ganso and neymar in attack, but they arent keeping shape of the 4222 and the movements are very poor, tactically, im not convinced by menezes.
They could play a real 433 with guys like Neymar, Hulk, damaio in attack, and the wings would look strong, but their midfield isnt good enough i feel.
The 4222 would really be perfect for them, specially with Marcelo and Alves, they have athletic CBs, strong DMs i think.
But they do need a specialist to put it in motion. Menezes made an attempt of it in the copa, we saw some of the brilliance of such system, but they werent disciplined, and looked out of depth.
This is another point btw, discipline, Dunga got that part perfectly. It doesnt matter if you want to play Joga bonito, if you have no discipline with the team defending as a whole, you will get nowhere in this era of football, it's as simple as that.
Dunga understood that concept, and even with an underwhelming group for many, he looked like a world cup winner, bar that stupid mistake from Melo, imo. The way they were defending during the copa was shameful, the team was split in two, and the forwards werent that concerned about defending.
Mentality wise, they have to come to realization with it. Reminds me of Muricy barca fanboy saying that RM is too tactical for Neymar, but barca is better. Bottom line is, Even barca wingers are crazy hard working, and if even Neymar cant commit to it, he will struggle. Everyone has to work hard nowadays.

Re: Thoughts on Brazil
Agree with every paragraph.
I am a big fan of the 4222 and I think if you dont real wideplayers its always a great formation. Even more so if you have mobile players but like to play in the center of the pitch.
Discpline of course is a must, but that will naturally occur if you got a good coach, players believe in the system and are motivated to do well.

Don't know, some fans actually bragged about him being the next Pele, there were even topics on that. Don't ask me, I'm just questioning that question from the past.

Re: Thoughts on Brazil
I dont think Neymar's talent is finished over this couple of brazil games. Messi has been struggling with argentina forever, he is doing just fine.
If anything, that goal he scored out of pride against germany while being sick, is telling you that he is no joke. But brazil atm is such a mess

Hmm, I see. Well, I certainly haven't given up on him, but he surely won't be as good as Pele by any means.

Re: Thoughts on Brazil
Being as good as Pele? it's not something you can predict anyway, for all we know, Hazard is going to be the greatest player of this era of football, yet he isnt as hyped as other kids of his age.
