Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
Kruse is in great form right now. Also had a MOM performance the week before.
I missed the game yesterday. Not really fussed 1-2 isn't that bad, not sure how the performance was.
McFlynn isn't news, known that for more than a season.

Yeah, I've read your posts about McFlynn for a while now, first time I've seen a full game of his though.

Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
Went to the WSW game as well and I was so impressed! I was on the side with all the sun directed towards the stand, on the halfway line.
The crowd/fans were brilliant and it's no wonder why Foster and other Australian analysists are saying Wanderers have the best atmosphere because they really do. Chanting constantly, whether winning or losing... The game was impressive from a Wanderers perspective as well. They really pressured Victory and forced them usually to make a mistake (long ball or turnover..) Even without Mooy, they controlled the game and possession wise kept the ball better than Victory. Really disappionted that Rojas, Archie and Flores didn't perform to strandards. Archie tried to do too much and forced alot of turnovers... Rojas was very lazy... Didn't use his pace, acceleration, skill to his use even though he had so much space to beat players etc.
All the goals were great though IMO WSW could have and should have scored more goals. Refereeing was great though he was blocked to see the penalty claim.

Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
Watched the second half of WSW game against Brisbane Roar and I was very impressed. Looking at highlights and brief players movments of the first half I thought Roar could have easily sneak in a goal or two. However the second half was all dominated by WSW. Mooy was superb in that half. He harassed, tackled, pressed the opposition off the ball and won almost every challenge available. On the ball, he was great as well. He linked up well with teammates and controlled the game as well as being a main force in controlling possession. Shannon Cole was also a top performer. He defended well and on the ball he really surprised me. I never seen him beat so many players through sheer pace. A joy to watch.

Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
Watching Wanderers vs Jets and WSW have DEFINATELY been the better team, no doubt. They have constantly pressure the backs and keeper in playing a long ball in which Toppor-Stanley has been winning every aerial battle. Mooy and Ono are really controlling possession well and creating chances for Hersi and Bridge. Dino has been involved in play a lot and holding the ball well and giving it to Hersi to put in a cross. Defense has been rock solid and with every player on the pitch par keeper is pressuring the Jets forcing them to turn over possession. Poljiak and Mooy have done well shutting out Ryan Grittiths which has been great because they aren't creating jack through the middle. Heskey has been nowhere in this match. Missed a glorious chance for the opener.
Newcastles best performer by far has been Galloway and the keeper.
Second half will probably be the same.

No one has posted here for a long time but thought the Victory game was thoroughly entertaining! Don't think Victory deserved the win and shouldn't have been a penalty but hey thats football. Referees make mistakes, fans need to accept that!

Yeah, Perth were robbed, but it wasn't like they didn't have chances to go 2-0 up. Smeltz will be shattered.

Re: Matchday: Discussion and Highlights
A-League Grand Final will be played tomorrow between Western Sydney Wanderers and Central Coast Mariners at Allianz Stadium, Sydney at 4.00pm
Wanderers have key midfielder Aaron Mooy, who has been sidelined with a knee injury since Week 25 against Melbourne Heart, while right-back Jerome Polenz - who aggravated his quad injury in last week's semi-final clash with Brisbane - also remains a concern. Star striker Mark Bridge, who missed training with an ankle injury on Tuesday, was moving freely at Friday's session. The only player the Wanderers are certain to miss is crafty midfielder Youssouf Hersi, who is suspended as well La Rocca who is still suspended due agaisnt Sydney FC in Week 26.
Central Coast Mariners only miss Nick Montgomery due to his suspension against the Victory last match. Bozanic should start in his spot.
Most likely lineups. Elrich to play instead of Polenz and Perkatis for Mooy if injuries are a concern
