Man City ready to offer 9 million a year which is ridiculous in my eyes. 5.5 million a year would be fair imo.

On another note, De Rossi played a good, solid game for Italy today. Was very dangerous with a few late runs into the box and had a number of chances to score, including an open net which he just barely missed due to a deflection and a left footed strike from outside the box. Looks ready for the new season.

Yeah, everyone's been telling me that he was great today. That bodes quite well. Perhaps we can expect some good news from his contract talks in the coming days.

DDR was our 2nd best player today.

He once again outshone oriundo Motta and destroyed any chance Slovenia tried to create, made laser accurate passes and thunderous shots.

De Rossi was in fact our best player aside from Cassano. He got the highest rating from goal.com so... Anyways Balotelli was also our best as he shifted everything around when he came in the game.

De Rossi makes Roma demand



Daniele De Rossi has reportedly asked for a €6.5m a year salary in order to extend his contract at Roma.

The Italian international midfielder is only tied to the Giallorossi until June 2012, which means he could potentially leave on a Bosman free transfer next summer.

Roma are keen to keep the player given his Roman status, his ability and his transfer value, but they’d have to dig deep into their pockets to accommodate his requests.

De Rossi currently earns around €4.5m a campaign at the Stadio Olimpico. His alleged new wage demands would see him become the biggest earner in Giallorosso – above even Francesco Totti.

Roma are hoping to construct a deal with a proportion of his salary fixed, but with various bonus clauses that could see his income rise.

Talks between the two parties are set to continue in an effort to reach a compromise.

Now 28, the midfielder has spent his entire career at the club after graduating through their youth academy.

Should De Rossi become available for transfer, he’s likely to be wanted by almost all of Europe’s top clubs.

Manchester City were linked with his signature during the summer, while Real Madrid have been paired with him on a regular basis over the years.

Roma start their Serie A campaign against Cagliari on Sunday.

As much as I love DDR I think he is being to greedy this time, he says he never wants to leave Rome but if thats true then he should not ask for so much money, I thought the 5.5 he would take it and be happy but now im not sure if the club can afford to give him 6.5.
