isn't this Martin's first NT app?

Besides, he still has the potential to be pulling the strings for France.

One of my favs as Arsenal need to pick him up in Jan

not really, maybe 4th or 5th and his first average performance.

You can't really blame him tonight Nick. It was a minefield out there. None of the technical players did anything because they couldn't. In fact, nobody could even make runs because it was impossible to push off or stop... any pressure on that field and you had a hole lol.

sportsczy wrote:Oh please. He played on a potato field where nobody could string two passes together. In fact, players were afraid to make runs because the turf would lift = injury risk. The whole team was static. The only thing that worked here and there was Evra and Ribery doing really short passing on the left wing... Evra almost killed himself doing it actually as his ankle got stuck in the turf during a tackle. Impossible for the truly technical players to even try anything as you saw with Martin and Benz... you couldn't change directions on that field. Speed wing players were the only guys who had any chance.
Benz was ok, he tried his utmost Very Happy I'm not belittling him because he didn't assist or score. He didn't do anything. His first touch was meh, didn't offer himself for passes properly = crap positioning. When he was double marked he had to move to the flanks or take the markers away with him to make space for others. What did he do? He was ball watching... When you can't play over the field you cross, chip or move the ball other wise. He didn't do any of those Very Happy

Actually, we did that several times. The problem is when WE are up 2-1 in the 90th minute lol

Mueller was the guy that did it, but Poland looked way too tired in the last 15 minutes. The defending for the second goal was horrible. One player stumbling and then Cacau was just left alone to score. I agree that Muller should be given credit for his work though. I mean, even the legendary Gotze couldn't do it Laughing

France defended well, got the ball out of the area in a nice Cabaye-M'Vila-Ribery combination... then hit the final 3rd and everything went to shit due to the grass looking like Rooney's face.

But yeah, Godze >>> Martin. Even Professor Wenger agrees.

As i rewatched some of the game, i have to say that both Martin and Valbuena were piss poor. France had 59% possession... so M'Vila and Cabaye did their job. But that translated to 3 shots on goal....3! There was no service at all to Benzema. All the plays came from Ribery and Evra... and a couple from Sagna. That was the extent of it.

Field was horrific. But players need to adapt more.

I'm still surprised Koscielny's not given a chance yet.

France should revert to 4-4-1-1 or make Benz AM full time. I saw Martin and Valbuena, both of them sucked hard Very Happy France needs to play Benz deeper for more creativity but they can't expect him to get on the end of his own balls. He needs a CF next to him :

------------------------M'Vila--------Cabaye-------
Hardwordking winger--------Benz-----------Ribery
-------------------------Gameiro--------------------

It may work for you. As of now, I don't see them scoring in big games Very Happy Could Menez play on the right by chance? Very Happy
