Why do people still doubt Pato?
He has been great for years, specially on big games like Barca,Madrid,Inter etc and some people still say he shouldn't start.I heard so many people saying Cassano should start instead (mainly on red and black forums).
What do you guys think? Is he a guaranteed starter or not?

Re: Why do people still doubt Pato?
if pato doesn't start then who should???, personally i think he's our best striker and i've always supported him, cassano on the other hand was totally useless, just like i expected him to be..

I knew Cassano would not be effective in this game. He was already exhausted from this weekends game.

Re: Why do people still doubt Pato?
hasnt scored past 20, inconsistent, not a definite starter for milan for reasons unknown, slight injury proness not helping.
just to name a few. He is definitely starting material however, 2nd best if not the best striker in milan. why allegri dont have him guarantee starter is beyond me. hence reasons unknown.

i partially agree with that!, he hasn't improved alot since he his denut for us!, ofcourse he was awsome back then and he still is but he hasn't really evolved into the best striker in the world like most of us were expecting him to...
still an awsome player though, potential is there, it's just waiting to be unleashed..

lol that is not a fair comparison. That and they both play differently. do similar players.
on topic: The way i see it on pato development is like the guy above says, growth is stalled. the potential is there but... for some reason that potential has yet to be unlocked.

Re: Why do people still doubt Pato?
Watching the Incredible Pato tonight was so frustrating that I wanted to turn the TV off.
He is unbelievable, a real phenomenon and his talent is incomparable to bums like Benzema, and his goal was unquestionably goal of the month.
But why was it frustrating to watch him? Because he received no f***ing support from anybody. Nobody fed him.
Everything he did, he did them on his own, all alone.
He CAN easily be the lone attacker, but not with little to no support.
If only we had Ibra and/or El Shaarawy tonight. Even Robinho would've been much better than the ineffective, immobile, inactive, low-spirited Cassano.
Ibra could send Pato through by his intelligent balls and busy the defenders to free Pato up.
Stefan or Robinho could have run incisively in parallel to Pato and support him in another way, but we were definitely too short up front.
Pity about Boateng too, he was good while on the pitch, he gave Pato a hand sometimes.
I badly wished Aquilani had started alongside Boateng behind Pato. Aquaman showed great vision in his limited time and gave Seedorf a marvelous long ball to initiate a decisive, dangerous attack.
Way to go Ganso man, we seriously needed a thread to celebrate Pato's greatness.

Once he retires as a player and we look back at the goals hes scored and the clubs they were against, he will have quite an impressive catalogue

Re: Why do people still doubt Pato?
Ibra-Pato will DEFINITELY start next time we play Barca so Pato could get that service Iras was talking about
Then again, Puyol and Pique will be there if they're fit

i believe he could do even better with Elshaarawi playing alongside him...
ibra would've flopped if he played tonight(hence why we got a draw!!)..

im going to ignore that for the sake of having a decent discussion.
Great goal for pato, I do hope this goal will finally allow pato to show his true colors. potential just cant sit there locked forever.
Re: Why do people still doubt Pato?
Jesus why do you guys (milan fans) need to bash other players when praising your own? Benzema is a great striker. Some of the goals he scores are incredible, there is no need to bash him. I get it though, you are proud of our boy. Like Turok said, they are completely different players.

Re: Why do people still doubt Pato?
For me, it's very simple: Ibra-Pato is our best possible duo up front. Why on earth some people think binho or cassano should start ahead of him is beyond me.

Turok is biggest Fanzema. Ignore him.
Cassano is great, but not today. He plays better with Ibra along.
Pato i good, people who doubt him esp among Milan fan(if they are) should just resign from being our club supporters

Robinho and Cassano can link up with ANY other striker in our squad.
So playing one of them guarantees fluidity up front
It's quite a fantastic problem to have

Re: Why do people still doubt Pato?
I swear to God I mean no disrespect toward my Madrid fan friends (my bro is a 15-year-old Madrdista), but you can't change the way I think: Comparing Benzema to Pato is an insult.
Pato nutmegged Puyol when he was 16, he benched Gilardino (Italy's then regular) at the age of 18 and is a regular for Brazil in presence of beasts such as Hulk and Fred.
Pato's is a curious case, and the funniest thing I've ever heard/read about him is being a big-game flop.
Pellegrini's 250m Real Madrid lost to moments of sheer genius from Pato and he destroyed Inter last year with amazing technique, relentless running, precision and directness.
If we support him up front, and provided that he stays match-fit for at least 80% of the season, we're gonna grab the Scudetto weeks prior to last matchday and he will win the Capocannoniere award.
Hey Madridisti, no offence to you, I reiterate with good intention.

FTFY. and for the record, im the most reasonable biased person around. That and i actually like pato, he is good for milan as milan definitely need him as a starter (robinho doesnt cut it for me, neither does cassano).
As my older bro supports milan, so do i. how we got into supporting milan is funny actually. but that will be for another time. needless to say, nothing like sweet bread and family cookin to celebrate milan being on par with farca and showing that milan are still milan, best team in italy and that we must do wut inter dont.
*guy below* robinho needs consistency, i tend to not trust inconsistent players unless if they are worth it (pato being a great example, he is definitely worth it).

You need to be a Milan fan yourself to realise how good Robinho is for us
I personally think he was Milan's most underrated player last year

Re: Why do people still doubt Pato?
Ok, turok. But, this inconsistency thing is one of those things people hear from somewhere and pick it up. Pato always delivers when fit. His goalscoring record despite being an SS/Winger and playing under 3 dif coaches and systems. Big game player unlike Ibra. All that without Ozils and CRs.
And I dont get hype around Robinho. Yes he is decent, he links up, but he is 4th in pecking order. Still I wouldnt trade him for Torres as reports suggest lolol
